"Cenderion, where are we going?!" I yelped surprised wrapping my arms around his neck as he lifted me in his, held me bridal style, and started to walk out of our clearing. I had thought we had made quite the mood there on our suspended bed. I was ready, and he seemed eager. I was beneath him, and now he was carrying me. I could still feel his desire for me, so why were we leaving?

"To properly consummate a dryad union, we have to do so beneath one's tree." He explained with a big smile.

"But your tree is back in Vania. Near Hendrix's estate." I said growing disappointed. Did that mean we couldn't make things official until I truly returned to Cenderion's tree?

That playful gleam came to my husband's eye that told me he was about to say something that I wasn't going to like. "Any tree under a dryad's mantel can act as a substitute."

I nodded relieved. His mother's tree would work then, so we only needed to— "Wait! You mean your mother's tree?! The tree that the fairy queens use as their court? That tree?!"

Cenderion tapped his forehead against mine. "The very same."

I blushed and felt my heart start to race. "You can't mean for us to... you know... in the queens' court? Right? Maybe there's a place behind the tree... Or to the side." I asked hopefully.

"Not to worry, Lily. I have sent some dryads to clear the court before we arrive. As a cenderion, I have full rights to my tree whenever I request them." He said clearly enjoying my discomfort and embarrassment.

"But it's still their court! The space is so open with thrones facing it. And now there's a massive hole in the canopy, and what about the Angel's Hearts?!" I sputtered.

"That dragon took the Angel's Hearts and left for the Dragon Lands earlier today." He stopped walking and became serious. "Are you having second thoughts?"

"No, but..." I trailed off. I sighed realizing that if I truly wanted to become Cenderion's queen, this was how it had to be. It was disheartening that our first time together was going to feel more like a chore, but it was the price that royalty often had to pay.

Cenderion smiled and squeezed me. "Don't pout, Lily. I promise that it will be special. Just leave everything to me."

I nodded relaxing against him as we continued on. I could tell we were getting close, but all of the sudden Cenderion stopped. He looked annoyed and almost angry. It wasn't long until I could see why.

"King Cenderion! What is the meaning of this? We were in the middle of a meeting." Queen Celeste said as she strode towards us with her wings fidgeting in irritation. "I know it is your tree, but a request or a warning would have been far better received." Her arms crossed and her rainbow eyes widened as she noticed me in his arms.

Queen Ebony walked in after her and her scowl immediately transformed into a knowing smirk. "It appears he had a reason, Celeste."

"Yes, I did. You will have to resume your meeting tomorrow." Cenderion snipped bothered.

"You are consummating the union then... She will be your dryad queen?" Queen Celeste asked looking deflated. I guess she was still holding out for us not working out.

"I will." I said gripping Cenderion possessively.

"Finally, something fun will be happening in that boring court. May I act as witness?" Queen Ebony asked intrigued.
