Your eyes looked onto the familiar river as you set aside your camping gear against the soft patch of grass

The nice smell of the forest and water hit your lungs like a drug, making your eyes fluttered closed and relax, feeling it blossom to nostalgia to what may be your last

The doctors spoke of your rare disease, one that has no cure yet, most haved tried to help heal you, giving anything and everything they could withing your budget

But... nothing ever worked, it was taking you, and it wasn't going away.....but you where

Your eyes shined by the setting sun, a few tears running down your cheeks as the memories of your loved ones came flooding around you, when they used to come here to camp out and eat and chat all night long

The music....the recollection was honestly heart wrenching to listen during your time in the hospital yet right now, as your Speaker played their tunes

It felt....just right

----

The tent was up, and so was the fire

Fishing wasn't that bad as some Salmon caught your bait

"Father.... you where always so smart huh?" You whispered as you clean and gutted the fish, just like he taught you

The season and time was always planned by him, and that...you never forgotten

Once done, you began to season it, just like mother would, the ghost of her hands seemed to guide you during these steps, as her words would whisper on why and how it was important to cook it in a certain way....

A small smile was on your face, before setting it on the hot oil in the pan and began to turn it

"...." a small sigh left

Unaware of the monsters hidden in the shadows watching.... ready to strike ...

---

Waking up with a headache was not on your to do list in the early morning, nor was vomiting blood outside your tent, your hands clawed onto the strands of grass as you shaked in ache

G...god.... this again

A soft pained pant left you as you slumped onto the ground, hoping it will go away, your eyes clouded by the pained tears, now  staring at the clouded sky

"...a.h...." You shut your eyes and began to control your breathing, your arms hugging your stomach as to sooth the pain before continuing your activities to your Heart's content

Nothing...will stop this day from being perfect...

Some things where missing, like a knife, a few nails that where left extra incase some bended bad and some oil?

Your thoughts wondered over to the possibility of raccoons.... those cute.. bastards always seem to find a way to mess with you....

The dagger seemed to be the best option to use during cooking from now on, even if it wasn't the most ideal since it was small but...well...what can one do?

---

... your eyes squinted over as the shadows outside your tent moved, all whispering to one another as they giggled and laughed

Kicking around and messing things outside

Whoever these people are.... they came here for something....watched or had seen you come here because this place was a restricted area your family owned-....and only few knew of its landscapes

A small sweat ran down your face before quietly sitting upright and putting your clothes and shoes back on, once making sure you had your phone and dagger, you slowly unzipped the tent door behind you, hoping they dint hear before exiting out slowly
