"Chambers! Is that you?" Anthony turned around in the mall at the familiar voice.
"Johnny, what the fuck are you doing over on this side of town? Did you get lost?" Anthony joked at his old friend.
"Hey, I just wanted to slum with the rich bitches. Heard you got adopted by a doctor? That's bank dude" Johnny complimented him.
Anthony shook his head. "Ya one of my dads is a doctor, the others a police officer"
Johnny's face scrunched up "a cop? Oh shit that sucks ass" he laughed.
Caleb cleared his throat, he and Brett had been standing there being ignored while Anthony reminisced with Johnny
"Oh sorry, Johnny these are my brothers Caleb, and Brett" They shook Johnny's hand.
"Anthony we got to go, we were late meeting Papa and James" Caleb pointed out the time. Johnny and Anthony exchanged numbers.
"That Johnny kid from the mall seemed cool. He's from your old neighborhood?" Caleb mentioned at the dinner table that night.
Derek's head shot up at the mention of Johnny "we're not talking about Johnny Winters are we?"
Anthony fidgeted in his seat. "Um ya" Anthony knew lying would have made the situation worse"
Derek frowned even more. "Glen, Zach I think you should know Johnny Winters is an old friend of Anthony's from our old neighborhood before we moved to this side of town. He has been in a lot of trouble in school and with the authorities. I had forbidden Anthony to hang out with him after he was escorted home by the police for tagging an abandoned building with Johnny"
Anthony got defensive before Zach or Glen could say anything. "Hey I just ran into him at the mall, I haven't talked to him in over a year, chill Derek no need to throw me under the bus for fucks sake" Anthony growled at his older brother.
"Anthony Trent Ripley watch your mouth. Derek wasn't accusing you of anything he was simply informing us of who Johnny was. I agree with Derek that this boy doesn't sound like he's up to any good. So you just keep your distance, clear?" Zach ordered him.
Anthony slumped in his seat only to have Glen pull him up in his chair and slap his thigh "stop pouting and answer your father" he scolded.
"Yes sir" Anthony responded, resisting the urge to roll his eyes.
"Sorry I mentioned Johnny I didn't realize that was going to go south so quickly" Caleb apologized as he, Anthony and Brett played Mario Cart in the game room.
Anthony laughed it off "it's cool, Johnny's not as bad as Derek makes him seem. He just got pissed because of the tagging" Anthony shrugged.
"I've always wanted to spray paint a wall. It's art. I don't understand why the police and others get so mad about it?" Brett complained
"It's because it's done by kids and they don't think we are classy enough to be artists" Anthony gave his opinion on the matter. Caleb and Brett were quick to agree it must just be adults being judgmental that's all.
"I Know you got his number we won't tell daddy or papa about it, are you going to meet up with him again? We would like to hangout and get to know him" Caleb asked.
Anthony agreed he would set them all up hanging out to get to know each other.
"Hey, how often are you on this side of town? My brothers would like to hang" Anthony texted Johnny that night.
