New Home

The Shannon's are walking through the streets, as Mark Reynolds led them to the new quarters.

"Agricultural duty. You can make that work, right?" Elisabeth asks her husband, already knowing his son would be fine. Liam had done plenty of random jobs while Jim was in jail, to help her make money.

"It beats making license plates." Jim says.

"Your quarters are here in the newer part of the settlement." Mark tells them. "There's a PX down that way for supplies. Some of these units aren't quite finished. I don't even think yours has been painted yet. Here we are." He stops and gestures to the house.

The Shannon's all stop and turn to it.

"This is ours?" Elisabeth asks and mark nods.

"If you need anything, just let us know." Mark says and leaves.

Elisabeth excitedly picks up Zoe.

"This is it. Come on."

...

Walking in the door last Liam looks around the house.

"I get the room with the most windows." Maddy runs off.

"I get first pick." Josh states.

"Says who."

"I do." He says and she rolls her eyes and ignore him, finding her room.

"Oh, man! They gave us the M-7 model." Maddy says and Liam chuckles at his sister knowing everything.

"It's not bad, right? Throw some paint on the walls. Get a rug or something." Elisabeth says.

Jim and Liam looking through the stuff on the counter.

"Do they have rugs here?" Jim asks.

"Maybe a nice, sort of, dino-runner would be great down the hallway." Liam states as he looks into the boxes. Jim chuckles and glances at his son.

"You not gonna run to find the best room or something?" Jim asks him.

Liam just looks up at him, with a blank look.

"Nah, I'm good with whatever." Liam shrugs.

Jim realises his son has grown a lot in the last two years and it gives him mixed feelings. Proud mostly, but also sad that he had to grow up so fast and without his father around.

"Jim?" Elisabeth says and he looks at her. "We did the right thing, didn't we? Coming here?" She asks and then Zoe comes up to her.

"Mommy? There's no room for me." She tells her mom. Elisabeth and Jim laughs a little.

"We'll figure something out, sweetie." Jim tells her. Zoe just looks at him then down. "She doesn't know me." Jim states looking at his wife.

"Last time you saw her, she was barely three." Liam states and Jim looks down and turns to Zoe, bending down to her level.

"So, we need to find a bed for, oh, what's your name again?" Jim asks her and Zoe looks at her mother who frowns slightly at her husband. "Oh, that's right, Martha." He says and Zoe shakes her head. "Oh, oh, right, right, Priscilla." He then says and Zoe giggles, shaking her head. "Not Priscilla, huh?"

Maddy and Josh peak out of their rooms at the exchange.

"Oh, wait. I got it." Jim snaps his fingers. "It's Zoe." He says and she nods. He takes out his hand for her. "Well, hi, Zoe. My name is Alfredo." He tries to shake her hand but she snatched it away with a giggle shaking her head. "What?"

"No, it's not."

"Well, what is it?"

"Daddy." She says and he smiles brightly at her, then kissing her forehead.

"Okay, so it's settled." Maddy then says, going to Zoe. "Me and Zoe get this room, seeing as it's bigger. And we can squeeze another bed in."

Liam smiles a little at his sister before glancing at Josh, sighing he sees that it's gonna be hard for Josh to forgive their father.

"One big happy family. Like nothing ever happened." Josh then says and Liam sighs.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Mom." Liam tries to stop her, but she ignores him and walks to Josh.

"I guess we're supposed to just forget about the last years we had to fend for ourselves because dad was in jail."

"Josh!" Elisabeth scolds and Jim walks up to them while Liam rubs his eyes tiredly.

"That's enough!" Jim scold him too.

"Admit it, mom. It's his own damn fault! If he hadn't lost his cool and thrown a punch at that cop he might've just gotten away with a fine. Have you ever thought about that?"

"Hey! We're not gonna stand here and argue the past with you, okay? We're starting over, as a family." Jim says.

Liam was just sitting down, feeling a bit tired from everything when Maddy speaks.

"Zoe? Has anybody seen Zoe? Where'd she go?"

Liams instinct immediately had him on his feet and was on his way to look for her.

"I thought she was with you?" Elisabeth asks going there too.

"She was. Zoe?"

They run out after Liam.

...

Running around the corner Liam sees Zoe. He sighs in relief when watch with wide eyes at the dinosaur.

Zoe picks up a branch with leaves and holds it up for it.

"Zoe, wait!" Liam says and walks closer to not scare the dinosaur. Watching in awe at the creature.

The others come around the corner too and sees her being lifted slightly as the dinosaur bites off the branch.

"Zoe!" Jim exclaims but she had let go and was back on the ground.

Elisabeth and Maddy goes up beside Zoe and Jim and Josh stops by Liam, everyone  around also watching the dinosaurs.

...

Later, at night, Jim says goodnight to Maddy.

"Good night, sweetheart."

"I'm really glad you're home dad. Good night."

Jim turns off the light and peak his head in to Josh.

"Good night."

"Yep." Josh just answers.

Jim sighs and walks to his room, to find Zoe asleep in their bed.

"She got used to sleeping in my room." Elisabeth tells him. "And it seems we've run out of beds."

"No, you can take mine, dad. I'll take the couch." Liam says from the kitchen.

"No, that's okay, son. I'll be fine. Thank you though." Jim tells him and Liam shrugs going to bed.

"Good night." He says and his parent say it back before turning to each other.

Jim then hesitantly leans down to kiss his wife, it gets a bit awkward but she kisses him back. She then goes to close the curtain but Jim speaks, making her look at him.

"The answer is yes. We did do the right thing, coming here." He says and she smiles.
