The Runaway - Part 4

Leah is walking with Liam, Jim and Taylor.

"I want a list of everybody who was outside the gates from the time she got here till 0900 this morning. Sometime in that 24 hour window, the spy must've got in contact with the Sixers. Let's find him." Taylor tells Jim and Liam.

Liam nods as Jim gets to work on his device for the list. Taylor approaches Leah.

"You, hey, peanut. You did great out there. You weren't even scared, were you?" He asks and she shakes her head.

Liam smiles at her. Jim smiles too, then glance at his son, thinking about how great he and you are with Leah.

"I could see that you weren't. Why, you looked like you might even throw a punch or something. Thought I'd have to hold you back. Hey, let's see what you got, huh?"

He holds up his hand for her to punch.

"Come on. Let's have it?"

She turns to Liam and he nods to her.

"Whack him." He tells her.

She pull her hand back immediately and punches her hand.

"Ow!" Taylor says and Liam and Jim chuckles. "I knew it. That is a mean right hand you've got there. Lethal. You keep practicing. When you turn 18 I might have to put you in a uniform."

"I like uniforms." She says.

"Okay, let's not get ahead of ourselves." Liam says pulling her into him a little and Taylor and Jim chuckles at him.

"Look, I know you've heard some pretty terrible things about me. And I don't know how life is out there with the Sixers, but, Leah, take a look around." Taylor says and she does. "People are happy here. They're safe, everybody's got a home, and nobody gets scraps."

"I don't like scraps. We move all the time. And I don't like that either." She says.

"Where do you move to?" Taylor then asks her.

"Lots of places. Mira never lets us stay in the same place for very long." She tells him.

"You know how to read a map?"

"I like maps. My dad taught me how to read them.. before the slasher ate him."

"I'll tell you what. Maybe after you get settled in, you and I can sit down, take a look at some of the places you've stayed. Maybe you can show me where your camp is. Deal?" Taylor asks and he nods shaking his hand roughly. "Ow!" He chuckles. "Alright. I'm gonna leave you in good hands. I need that list." He then tells Liam and Jim before leaving.

Jim nods and Liam takes Leah's hand.

"Come on." He tells her.

Casey Durwin then wheels up to them.

"Hello, there. You remember me? I remember you. Little Leah Marcos. Not so little anymore. You know I never forgets a name or a face. But somewhere along the line, I forgot my legs." He says and she chuckles. "So if you happen to see them walking around without me, could you tell them I'm looking for them?" He chuckles and then reach for a flower and hand into her. "Welcome back to Terra Nova, Leah Marcos."

They walk past them and Leah sniffs the flowers as she keeps holding Liams hand as they walk. She then reaches the flower up to Liam and he raises an eyebrows at her and accept it.

"You should give it to, Yn." She says and let's go of his hand and take Jim's instead so Liam can go.

Liam a stops in his tracks in surprise and Jim laughs at him as he takes Leah's hand and keeps walking.
