Stowaways

"You heard right, two stowaways. Adult male and a 5-year old girl." Washington tells someone through the radio.

"Copy that, lieutenant Washington." You hear the other side answer.

You walk in front of the Shannon family.

"Tell Commander Taylor we're headed back now." Wash says.

You couldn't help but notice how Liam seems to instinctively take the lead and protect his family as a father would.

"So, how much trouble do you think we're in?" Elisabeth asks Jim.

"Well, you were recruited. I mean they need you too much to cut you some slack. Me?" He scoffs.

"You think they'll make you serve out your time?" She asks and you realise why Liam must have the protective instincts, more so than what's usual for just being the eldest brother, having been the man of the house for some while now probably.

"Well, I hope not. I'm not scheduled to be released for another 85 million years." Jim says.

Liam takes a few big step to catch up and walk beside you. Glancing at each other your eyes meet, he gives you a smile. He was carrying Zoe on his hip.

"Are those clouds?" She asks and they look up.

You smile at her awe filled look.

"Yeah, sweetie. They are." Jim says.

"They're so white." She states and you glance at Liam who was also looking up at the skies for a minute with a small smile on his face.

You look back forward but not in time to see the rock you almost stumble over. Before you even get a chance at stumbling a hand grab you and steady you.

"Whoa! You okay?" Liam asks and you look at him.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you." You tell him, and keep moving.

He adjusts Zoe on his hips and walk up beside you again.

"Uh, I wanted to thank you." He then says and you glance at him confused. "For uh, that back there." He just says and you give him a smile.

"Nothing to thank." You tell him looking at Zoe who was already looking at you with a small smile.

"So, you been here a long time?" Liam asks.

"I came on the Fifth Pilgrimage." You tell him and he nods.

Jim speaks up, addressing his daughter.

"Hey, Zoe. I know I was gone long time, but you remember be, right?"

Then an explosion goes off and you all duck on instinct. Liam had instinctively pulled you into him in a protective embrace.

Loud roaring sound in the distance and the soldiers aim at the trees in case.

"Allosaur tripped a sonic mine. Just keep moving." One of the soldiers says.

Elisabeth and Jim was about to go to Zoe when they saw Liam had her protectively still in his arms, they sigh in relief. They see him helping you up, making them just glance at each other for a second before turning to their other children.

"Allosaur, that the carnivorous kind?" Josh asks his sister.

"Yup." Maddy confirms.

"I hope we're getting close." Josh states.

"We are." You reassure him. Josh gives you a grateful smile.

Walking up to the gate a car horn honks in greeting.
