MC had chosen to stay in bed the following day, skipping meals and avoiding her friends and roommates. Despite their insistence to tend to her, she only requested solidarity.

With well wishes and reassurances, they left for their own activities, respecting her space.

It had only been 24 hours since she had last seen him, but in a strange way, she missed Ominis. It felt like he was so far away.

She missed his blonde hair, his velvet voice, his tenderness.

His clouds.

Part of her was still furious with him, hoping The Giant Squid had broken through the common room windows and eaten him alive. But the rest of her felt empty without him. It was like he had disappeared from her life, vanishing over the crest of the hill on her horizon.

Like she had officially lost him for good.

Yet, she knew he was most likely just feet away in his own dorm.

She felt so far out of herself that she didn't at all flinch at the sound of a knock at her door. She groaned, peeking her head out from beneath her blanket just enough to call out in response.

"I told you, Imelda, no special flavored beans from Honeydukes are going to make me feel better!"

The door creaked open anyway.

"Not even a Sallow-flavored bean?" Sebastian poked his head around the door.

She retreated under the blanket once more before letting out a muffled "No."

She felt him sit on her bed. "MC, you can stay in here all you want, but I'm really going to need you to eat something. Can I please bring you a plate?"

"No thanks, I'd rather starve and whither, thank you."

He rolled his eyes before slowly pulling the top of the blanket down to reveal her upper body.

"There she is," he said with a playfully patronizing tone.

She smiled, sitting up. "Sebastian, I'm not some child. I'll eat when I'm hungry."

"Which we both know is now. I've known you long enough, MC. Sometimes you can eat more than me!"

"And I am not hungry, I assure you."

As if Merlin himself was playing a cruel joke at her expense, her stomach immediately growled. She didn't want to admit it, but she had been aching for a meal.

Sebastian raised a satisfied brow at her, not saying a word.

"Don't start, Sallow."

Sebastian chuckled and went to grab her hairbrush before sitting back down behind her, gently running it through her hair. "I just want you healthy, MC. I'm worried ab-"

"About me, yeah, yeah, so is everyone else except for Ominis, apparently," she snapped.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, love."

She relaxed a bit at his brushing. "It's true! He makes me grow intense affection for him and then lies to me and breaks my heart. He knew he was leading me on. Oh! All while being secretly engaged to the most pretentious airhead in the castle, did I mention that bit?"

Sebastian couldn't help but smile at her sarcastic venting, holding back a laugh. He was thankful her back was to him.

"To top it off," she continued, "practically our entire year has come up to check on me save for him. He causes the damage and is too chicken shit to face me and apologize for it."
