The plan was on.

MC and Ominis had a new goal: to play matchmaker for their fiancés.

It had been about a month since the Ball. Winter break had come and gone, during which time Sacharissa spent the Christmas holidays with the Gaunts.

Ominis and Sacharissa exchanged their gifts in the parlor of Gaunt Manor. He had managed to convince her to sleep in the guest room in the name of abstinence for their wedding night. This also kept his dick intact because Merlin knows she would ravage it if given the chance.

She was scary when she was horny.

Ominis despised the holidays. It was a piss poor excuse for his parents to bring him home only to insult him for a week. They never exchanged gifts with him or Marvolo, only tangents on his disappointing performance as a son.

They once said that he wasn't worthy of being a Gaunt. Truth be told, he considered it a compliment. He never considered himself an evil egotistical blowhard, so for them to want to disown him was a nice confirmation.

Ominis grew up secretly giving gifts to the house elves of the manor during the winter holidays and their birthdays. He spent many evenings sneaking down to their quarters in the basement and spending hours with them, listening to their stories of service to other families and their own virtues in life. He loved spending time with them, it made him feel normal. They were his true family growing up, caring more about him than his blood ever will.

He once gifted a glove to Zeno, the house elf assigned to his bedchamber, to free him of his confinement to the Gaunts. Zeno had escaped the grounds with Ominis' help in the middle of the night, but Ominis was caught by his father on the way back to his room. He dragged Ominis down to the basement and forced him to duel his father with a secondhand wand. Edmond didn't hold back. He brutally cast offensive spell after offensive spell, slicing, scorching, and torturing Ominis.

He was only 7 years old at the time.

"Open mine first, Omi!" He was surprised that Sacharissa's squeal didn't shatter the windows.

Despite it being with her and Marvolo, he was somewhat grateful for a chipper Christmas morning that included gift-giving. He had hoped that MC was having a more peaceful time back at the castle. He regretted not following in her footsteps of feigning an illness to avoid coming back to the Manor, especially for a whole week.

No one there gave a shit that he had his eyesight, not even Scharissa. She was only grateful that he could now see her self-imposed 'beauty'.

He tore at the wrapping and revealed a gold pocket watch. It was actually a very nice piece. It had intricate designs and a shiny finish. He held it up by the chain. "Oh! Thank you, Sacharissa. It's lovely."

"Now you can start picking me up on time and stop being so late to our dates."

Ah. It was a sarcastic gift. A nice thought came with a catch, no surprise coming from her.

He softly chuckled. "Now open yours."

She eagerly tore open the paper from around the small box. She opened it to reveal a silver necklace littered with various charms: a badger, a leaf, and a Hogwarts crest in the center.

"It's beautiful, Omi! Thank you!"

"Just a little something to remind you of your lineage. Marvolo actually helped pick it out. He thought it fit you nicely." A true fact. Ominis had convinced Marvolo to assist in finding a gift for her the other day. He claimed he needed 'the eye of his older brother to find something worthy of her value'. Marvolo happily agreed.
