Ominis and MC had made it to breakfast the next morning. Sebastian's eyes widened at the visual of them walking in together.
"I take it you two made up?" he asked as they sat down across from him.
They both snickered, eyes down to the table. Ominis was the brave one and spoke up, "You could say that, Sebastian." They were almost excited for him to know.
Sebastian stopped mid-chew and gave them an accusatory look. "You didn't."
MC slowly nodded with a beaming grin. "Oh, yeah."
Ominis wrapped a protective arm around her waist. He spoke as he nuzzled his nose against her cheek. "I couldn't wait any longer, she's simply irresistible."
Sebastian dropped his fork onto his plate in surprise. "But! But what about," he stopped and looked behind his friends towards the Hufflepuff table and back at them. "Miss Priss?"
MC couldn't help but look over at Ominis, also curious about his answer.
"I told her it's off."
"And the Gaunts?" Sebastian didn't hide his worry.
Ominis smiled. " I have it covered, Sebastian." He turned to MC and gently took her hands. "My love, would you care to meet my family?"
Sebastian spewed his water onto the table, earning glares of disgust from their housemates.
MC's hands went limp in his. "W-what?"
Ominis only maintained his smile, awaiting her response.
She shook her head. "Ominis, no! I might actually kill them if in the same room with them!"
He only threw his head back and laughed. MC looked at Sebastian and they exchanged confused glances as if Ominis had just lost his mind.
Sebastian looked down as he continued eating. "Well, if she gets to kill them, I get a share in the event."
"Look, look. I think that I might be able to convince my parents of MC's worth after all. If I'm successful, they will allow me to remain courting her." He caressed her face. "How could anyone reject such a woman?"
"I don't know, Om. Not that she's not worth it, but how can MC stack up against a pureblood Hogwarts descendant in the eyes of your family?"
Ominis kept his focus on her. "MC, your ancient magic is the key. Sacharissa's characteristics won't compare against the Heroine of Hogwarts. They couldn't possibly turn down the idea of their son courting the most powerful witch in the region, possibly the world. What do you say? Do you trust me?"
"Of course I do, Ominis." She sighed after a moment of thought. "Very well. I'll put my best foot forward."
He brought her hand up to his face and kissed her wrist. "Oh, thank you, my sweet. I shall inform them of our arrival for next weekend. It will be alright, I promise."
She hesitated. She was fearful of meeting them. Not at the prospect of any verbal confrontations, but rather at the mass annihilation of the Gaunts that she would inevitably commit. She would rather humor them for one evening than spend the remainder of her life in Azkaban.
Hopefully, it will instead result in a lifetime with Ominis.

Ominis POV
After breakfast, Sebastian took MC to Hogsmeade, giving me a chance to draft my letter to my father and catch up on the schoolwork that I had originally planned to do yesterday. What a beautiful distraction I was graced with.
