Silver's POV

Mikey held me back as I try to reach my sister. "Let me go! I need to stop them!" I fought against Mikey's hold but his grip was strong. "No can do. You'll just get caught in the crossfire. Let them handle it." Leo and Angie were trying to get Ralph off of Saphira. Saphira was covering her face with her arms as Ralph's fist kept raining down on her. "Stop it!" I wanted to help. I wanted to stop him.

"Ralph! Get off her!" Leo stopped pulling on Ralph's shoulders. He quickly locked his arms around Ralph's neck. Ralph reacted immediately and tried to pry his arms off. Saphira took this chance and crawled out under him. Angie assisted Saphira as she struggled to stand up. "Let go!" Ralph was red in the face from anger. "Not until you stop!" Leo didn't loosen his hold.

"What on earth is going on here?!" Granny Lilo screeched at the top of her lungs. Everyone, even Ralph, stopped what they were doing. Granny Lilo looked scary when she is angry. She stomped over to Ralph and Leo. Leo quickly let go and step away as Granny Lilo grabbed Ralph by the ear and tugged him along as she stomped towards Saphira. "Ow!" Ralph complained all the way of the harsh tug on his ear.

Saphira flinched as Granny Lilo grabbed her ear too and tugged them both to a corner of the room. I watched as the old bones literally force the two to sit down on the ground. 'That's one scary old lady.' Granny Lilo crossed her arms as she frowned down at them, "Now, you two will sit here until lunch. I don't want to hear a complaint or see another fight. Is that clear?" Ralph was still red in the face as he nodded his head stiffly. Saphira flinched as she tried to nod too. Granny Lilo nod her head too, before she turned to us.

"That goes for you too. No more fighting. Angie-" The girl stiffened under the old ladies stare, "-Come help me with Charlie." She didn't wait for a reply as she returned to her room. Once the old lady was out of sight, everyone deflated in relief. I turned to look at Saphira. I frown in worry as I watch her try to get comfortable on the floor. I approach uncertain and crouch in front of her. "Sorry. This was my fault."

She looked up to meet my eyes and shook her head, "No, this isn't your fault. I should have kept a level-head instead of freaking out." I could tell by the quick glance that she gave Ralph, she was implying him too. My worry frown turned into an angry one, "You're so stupid! Why did you punch him?" My sudden change in moods almost gave her whiplash. "You need to stop fighting every time someone says or does something mean." I could tell that Ralph didn't except my sudden scolding either and tried to hide it.

Saphira sighed in exhaustion, "I know. I'll try to learn some self-control." I nod my head approvingly at her words, "Good." I give Ralph a pointed stare as I stood up straight. "I'm going to go check on Winifred." Saphira only nod her head as she watch me climb the ladder to the upper floor. Winifred was wide awake when I came to get her. It still bothered me how quiet she has gotten ever since we left home. It wasn't normal. I picked her up carefully and walked to the ladder.

There was no way getting down with her in my arms. "Uhm, can someone help, please?" I asked the people below. Donny stood up and picked up a basket under the table. He climbed the ladder with the basket in hand. I made room for him as he climbed up. He silently worked as he looped a rope, what he pulled out of the basket, around the support bean of the roof. He pointed to the basket as he waited for me. 'Oh! Now I see what he's doing.' I gently put Winifred in the basket, and quickly decent the ladder.

I stood under where I could see Donny. He carefully lowered Winifred with the basket and rope. I help to make sure the basket didn't tip as it landed on the floor. I pick up Winifred as I smile up at Donny. "Thank you." He only nodded at my thanks. He secured the rope to make sure it stayed in place before decending the ladder to join the rest on the ground floor. Angie brought a clay cup and bowl towards the table. "Let me help you feed her." Angie looked excited at the thought of feeding Winifred. "I tried my best to mash her food. Unfortunately, we don't have milk so she'll have to drink water like the rest of us." I only nod as I held Winifred upright and watched as Angie fed her the green goop she made.
