"Be careful, okay? Don't separate from your aunt."
"Okay, Father, Mother."
I wore more casual clothes my aunt made—just a basic t-shirt and short skirt. I kind of missed this type of clothing. My aunt wore a tight purple dress; I'd never seen any noble wear that kind of dress at a party. She looked like someone from the modern world.
We rode in the carriage for four hours and arrived at a big city. The buildings and roads looked more developed than Greydoll.
"Wow!"
"It's still too early to be surprised. Wait until you see the venue, khufufu," she said, smirking.
The carriage stopped at a giant building. From the outside, it looked like a colosseum, but when we walked into it, the roof was shining with colorful crystals. Glass murals adorned the walls. It was breathtaking; seeing the colorful roof alone made me feel so happy.
"Not everyone has permission to use this place. Not even the king can use it freely. The Pianist's reputation is no joke."
"Hooh..." Why does she keep praising The Pianist?
My aunt then pointed her finger at a couple. At first, I didn't really care, but then I saw Uncle and Cassia sitting together, eating the same food, wearing the same color clothes. Am I hallucinating?
"I guess I'll have a cousin in a few years."
"You don't need to wait for a few years, you know."
"Wha—"
Suddenly, the crowd started cheering. An old man appeared in the middle of the colosseum. He wore a white shirt and loose long black pants, with a strap to help keep his back straight.
"Ladies and Gentlemen of all races, I, the Pianist, will entertain you all with my new innovation in music engineering!"
A giant magic circle appeared under his feet. A piano slowly materialized from nothing. He then sat at the piano and started playing.
What is this sound? It's so majestic. How could a piano make a sound this good and clear? Did he use some sort of magic to amplify the piano's sound?
Suddenly, everyone clapped their hands. Auntie clapped too. Everyone started leaving. When did the show end? Was I too focused on the magic mechanism? No way!
"Phew, that was a good experience," said my sister as we walked out of the Colosseum.
"Sorry... I seem to have focused too much on the magic mechanism." I kept thinking about the ticket price.
"That was also a good experience for you too, right?"
"Ohooo, you understand the purpose of this show."
I looked behind me. I hadn't noticed when he appeared there. My aunt was surprised too.
"Oh my gosh! Mister Rondo, I'm so happy you're talking to me!" she said like a schoolgirl.
"I just want to appreciate my loyal fans."
"Kyaaaa!! I've been watching all your live shows!"
Live shows?
"Oooh, I remember a girl watching me years back. That girl always wore a yellow hat."
"Yeah, that was me!"
"Ohohoho, I'll tell you a small secret. I plan to release a new album."
"No way! Really?"
What am I watching? A fangirl in a medieval setting?
"Come on, Luke! Rondo is here!" I heard a familiar voice, then looked at the source.
"Stop pulling me. I'll walk myself."
"No way, you'll run before meeting him again."
Auntie and I looked at my uncle, his hand being pulled by Cassia.
"I wouldn't mind having a little brother or sister," I said blatantly.
"You two have been together for years. When are you going to get married?" Aunt asked sharply.
"Oh, are you Luke's younger sister?"
"Ah, yes, Mister Rondo. Do you know my older brother?"
What a fast switch...
"Yes, I am your older brother's future father-in-law."
"Wait, what? Mister Rondo is Cassia's father?" Aunt said, surprised.
"Father Rondo is Number Three! He trained me until I became Number Seven!"
Don't tell me... Uncle wasn't discharged, he came home after resigning to get married? Wait, Cassia promised her father to poke Uncle's head... what head? No! My dirty mind! It's all connected now. "Do it now, you stubborn fool! You've been caught red-handed by Valentina and Ruby anyway."
"Yeah, big brother, hurry up and marry Cassia so I can meet Mister Rondo every day!"
What a fanatic fangirl.
Uncle kneels in front of Mister Rondo.
"Mister Rondo, I wish to marry your disciple, Cassia. I swear on my life I will protect her from any threat and danger."
"Luke, I know you are more than capable of protecting my only disciple, but can you make her happy forever?"
"I can!"
"You have my permission. Please come to my house when you have plans for your wedding."
"Yes, thank you!"
Suddenly, a giant explosion is heard. Uncle immediately raises his magic shield to protect us all from the blast. He manages to shield other citizens too.
"Damn it, is this a terrorist or demon attack?" my aunt screams.
"Who knows?" Cassia answers.
A second explosion occurs, followed by a loud roaring sound. The sky turns red and starts raining a red-colored fluid.
"Ruby, focus on protecting yourself! I know you can do it!" my uncle shouts at me.
"Ye-yeah!"
"I will evacuate the citizens. Valentina, Cassia, go kill the scattered demons. Mister Rondo, please ambush the core."
"Okay, Brother." "Okay, Luke!" "Good, Family Head."
The four of them scatter, leaving me alone. This is the first invasion I've experienced. What should I do in this situation?
