(song (pls see playlist chap for reference): change my mind by one direction)

_________

Bard and I made it to his house. "Don't worry, the kids are gone for the night." He smiles as he opens my car door for me.

"Oh really now? How did you manage that?" I snickered.

He shrugged. "Honestly I don't know."

Bard was a true gentleman. He held the doors for me, allowed me to make my self at home while he set up my sleeping quarters for the night, and even drew a bath for me.

I thanked him.

After everything Bard done for me tonight, he continued to outdo himself. He had a nice warm dinner waiting for me after he got out of the bath.

"Your pasta, milady. I figured you might be hungry."

"Aw Bard, you remembered." I smiled politely staring at the man.

"How could I forget, my best girls favorite meal."

I smiled softly at the man. "How could I ever thank such a kind friend like you?"

"No need, you've done a lot for me and the kids."

I smiled once again at the man as we enjoyed the meal together.

We laughed about the good times we shared together, mostly old stories of me babysitting the children while he was out on his extensive fishing trips.

"If I may, I have something I would like to discuss." Bard spoke calmly.

I sat my fork down and stared at the curly haired man. "What's wrong?"

He shook his head, signaling nothing was wrong.

"If there's nothing the matter, what do you wish to discuss?" I asked him.

The man looked at me. "Are you sure we're just friends? You see because being honest here, I see us being a whole lot more."

I did nothing but look at the man, staring deep into his eyes. He quickly looked away and apologized for speaking. "I shouldn't have asked such things, knowing about you and your soon to be."

"Bard, don't be ridiculous. You have nothing to apologize for since Kili and I are no longer going to be wed."

The man looked back to me, quite confused.

"I'm sorry, you're not getting married to him anymore?"

I shook my head no. "Can you blame me? I mean you saw and heard what went on. If I'm being honest here, I wouldn't have kissed you in front of him if I wanted things to end between Kili and I."

Bard stood up and reached out a hand for me to grab. He pulled me up and closer to him, soon enough we were dancing in circles around the kitchen. No music playing, it was just us in silence. It felt like something out of a Hallmark movie.

"This may be cliche to ask, but would you stay? I mean stay here with me, please?" Bard asked as we swayed back and forth.

"Yes Bard. A thousand times yes."
