I cannot say I remember much about my performance. It seems that I got a little drunk as I sung, drinking both Fili's and Bard's drink.

I blacked out and fell. The last thing I saw before my eyes closed was the three men running to me.

I must've been out for hours because, it was such a long time until I heard another voice.

"How long until she recovers master?" Voice one.

"I am not sure, I just...I wasn't about to let her suffer and die." Voice two.

"It seems master has a heart after all." Voice three.

I couldn't make out the voices that they were, but they were deep, gruff voices.

I groaned, my head pain was coming back. I muttered a soft 'ouch'.

"Master Thorin, I think she's awake." That was the first voice.

Wait, he said Thorin? But what did he mean master?

I slowly sat up, holding my head. "What happened?" I muttered finally opening my eyes, adjusting into the light and the men that surrounded me in the room.

"You're awake, my goodness." It was Thorin speaking.

"Thorin, where am I?" I asked him. "What are you doing here? Last I remember I was at a karaoke bar with bard, kili, and fili, and I blackout after doing a performance." I told the man.

"You're at the home kingdom in Erebor, where else would you be?"

"What's a karaoke bar?" Asked one of the men from before.

"Who's bard?" Asked the other.

"Nori, you dunce. Bard is the man from lake town that slayed the dragon."

"Sorry, Dwalin. I forgot." The man called Nori, apologized.

"I don't know how long I was out for, but despite whatever you say, I need to get back home. Kili and I have to talk." I said getting up off of the bed.

"Why do you need to go 'home' to prince kili?" Asked Dwalin.

"We need to talk about what happened with the engagement."

"Engagement? But you don't have a betrothed, you don't sport the courting beads or braids."

I'm sorry what did this old man just say? Are we in like, the oldie times?

"I'm confused, what's courting?" I asked, standing there confused.

"Darling have you forgot your culture?" The man called Dwalin said.

"I'm sorry, my culture?"

He nodded. "Dear, you must remember you are a dwarf. You follow the dwarven courting system."

"I...I must've hit my head really hard. Remind me again?" I asked.

"I do not have the time I'm afraid. But master Thorin can." Dwalin walked to the door and bid a small bye.

"Thorin? What does this man mean?" I asked.

"What my advisor means by the courting system is, when two dwarves are very fond of each other the male braids the females hair and puts the beads of his kinship in. The female braids the males hair, without beads." Thorin spoke softly.

"Ah, thank you. I seem to have forgotten."

"You spoke of an engagement to my nephew, are you his lover in the real world?"

Okay now I was confused. Real world?

I just nodded. "I suppose I was at one point."

"Was?" He asked and I shrugged. "Strange, because according to the words of Nori here it seems that ou-"

"Ahem. Master Thorin, I don't think that...our dear friend out there wants to be revealed just yet." Nori coughed interrupting Thorin.

Thorin nodded as Nori exits the room.

The long bearded man turns back to me. "Forgive me for what I said, shall we get you something to eat? I bet you're starving."

"Oh yes, greatly." I followed him through the cold hallways. "Thorin, it was mentioned I was a dwarf. How hard did I hit my head?"

Thorin let out a deep chuckle. "Clearly very hard, you're remembering nothing young one."

I chuckled with him. "I suppose I am."
