(song (pls see playlist chap for reference): burning house by cam)

The day that I felt the most betrayed, started out like an average day.

But before we get too far, let's reflect a few previous days before.

Three Days Ago...

Kili and I just finished painting our spare bedroom and we were having a quick break before going and shopping for more supplies.

Kili was on his phone, typing away. I was relaxing on the sofa, stretched out with my head in his lap.

"Who you texting love?" I asked him.

"I can't tell you, it's a secret." He whispered and kissed my forehead. "You want me to tell you I'm talking bad about you?"

Little did I know...

"Oh really? You texting your brother how I got you so so busy and that's why you can't be with him?" I snickered, sitting up.

"Exactly." He laughs tapping my nose lightly and getting up. "Come on, we have to go. We have a few things to buy and then let's pick up some actual food. Sound good?"

I nodded.

Two Days Ago...

I was smiling ear to ear, one of my closest friends Tauriel just brought over some house warming gifts for Kili and I.

Her grin matched mine as she handed me some things, and handed Kili the rest.

"Kili, you've been treating her right?" She asked.

"Of course, she's my One." He smiles, exiting the room with glee. Oh am I?

"Tauriel, these are amazing gifts. Thank you, they're very appreciated." I thanked her, leading her into the kitchen.

"Well of course, anything for my closest friend." She replied smiling back at me.

I handed her a cup of tea. I enjoyed having the company of another female, it was relieving.

"Oh Tauri, this is gorgeous!" I smiled widely at one of the gifts. The gift in question was a painting of the place where Kili and I first met, a lovely waterfall just outside one of the best camping trails ever.

"That's hand painted you know, worth alot of money." She smiled, sipping her tea. "You're quite familiar with the artist actually."

"I am? Do I own any of their works already?" I questioned my red haired friend.

"I don't believe you do. But it just so happens i am close to this artist, so i can always get you plenty more works."

"Wait you, you said you're close to them and that I'm familiar with them..Who is the artist?" I questioned once more.

"You're looking at her." Tauriel smirked sipping her tea once more.

"Tauriel! You did this? It's so beautiful!" I cheered hugging the girl excitedly.

"Yes, I wanted to give you guys something both personal and memorable. You'll have plenty of people to tell the stories to in the future."

One Day Ago...

I hadn't seen much of Kili today.

We were supposed to meet at a few different places that involved planning our wedding, so you could imagine the disappointment and confusion that scattered around my brain.

I had Bard ride along with me to a few of the places. Purchases weren't actually being made today, so I figured it was okay if Bard rode along just to tour a few things.

Being previously married I knew Bard didn't mind helping out and lending his eyes, he knew what was worth it.

Bard and i decided that it was time to take a little break, so we settled in the corner of a nearby coffee shop sipping on delicious lattes.

Bard looked over my shoulder as the door to the shop opened once more. "Hey isn't that Kili, your husband to be?" He asked. "Isn't he supposed to be here with you right now and not the red head?"

I turned slightly to get a look, and saw both Tauriel and Kili in line. "What? Where has he been?"

TODAY...

I woke, Kili absent from my side.

I marched downstairs to pour myself a bowl of cereal. Little did I know, this was going to be the most calm point of my day.

It was seeming as if Kili was having possible second thoughts regarding our engagement. Is that why he was avoiding preparations?

I tried ringing Kili, as he was nowhere around the house, and his car wasn't parked next to mine.

He didn't answer. I rang him again. This time I got sent straight to voicemail.

I tried to think of the positives. I wasn't sure there was any, as the only one that came to mind was he's forming some sort of surprise for me.

I tried Kili's brother, Fili. Surely Kili was over there with the rest of his troupe.

"I'm sorry darling, but I haven't seen my brother for about an hour." Fili had told me through the phone.

"So he was there? Did he mention where he was going?"

"Unfortunately, he did not. You mean he left without giving you any information?"

I nodded even though he couldn't see it. "Indeed he did. He's been really suspicious the past few days too. I'm quite concerned actually."

"I'm so glad you said that." the blonde brother replied. "Uncle and Bilfur both have commented on the fact that he's seemed rather sneaky."

I stood quietly for a second. Do they know anything about Kili and Tauriel being at the cafe together, knowing Kili was supposed to be with me?

"Fili, did anyone mention Tauriel lately? She's been hanging around a lot and I just wanted to know if she was acting any stranger."

Fili chuckled. "Now that you mention that, Kili did mention being at the coffee shop the other day with Tauriel, he sworn he saw you with Bard."

I laughed. "Of course he did. I'm assuming he's saying i am a lying, cheating, scumbag now? I only went around with Bard yesterday because Kili never showed up. He was supposed to meet me at different places and he failed."

Fili clicked his tongue, he groans in disappointment on his brother. "This boy I swear. You said he wasn't around today?"

"Correct. I haven't received any mes-"

"Sorry, hold it right there. It seems Kili is pulling up right now." Fili tells me to quiet.

Despite my silence I couldn't hear anything going on. "Alright, I want you to be sitting on your porch. Kili is on his way now." Fili told me.

We said our goodbyes and I prepared myself for the upcoming wrath.

So here I sat, the newly finished front porch of the house my fiancé and I just got. When other than Kili Durin himself makes an appearance.
