valerie and her best friends ─ emory ( also her roomate ), august, and lola ─ sat in a haphazard circle on the floor of valerie and emory's dorm room. valerie had just finished telling her friends about her and chris' conversation and after somehow sitting quietly through the whole thing, emory was no longer able to contain her excitement.
"AND HE TURNED OFF AUTOCAPS FOR YOU?"
valerie giggled at her best friend's exclamation. it was just like emory to jump to the least significant thing and blow it up. that's what valerie loved most about her: her appreciation for the little things.
"yes, he did." valerie said, smiling. "and he wants to talk more."
