" As the light upon the leaves of trees, as the voice of clear waters, as the stars above the mists of the world, such was her glory and her loveliness; and in her face was a shining light."

  -J.R.R Tolkien, The Silmarillon

“Sinsod? What for?”

Oct was looking aghast at the Attorney who was now sweating bullets in front of him.

Ling swallowed hard. It was obvious that the CEO was surprised. His face still couldn't believe what he heard from the Attorney.

It never crossed her mind to deny or hide her relationship with Orm. She dreamed of this for several years and now, she's willing to do whatever she thinks is right. Oct thought he went deaf or heard something else, something differently  but Ling repeated what she said, clearer and slower this time.

“The Sinsod, Sir. For your daughter, Orm. How much would it be?”

She breathed deeply, Asking for Dowry right away without context and explanation could certainly cause confusion. Like what Spock would say in these situations, It's not Logical.

Ling topped the bar exam, became the most sought after Attorney in the Country, could win and defend cases no matter how hard it was. She is a smart person but when it comes to Orm she is stupid.  She couldn't think clearly. Her mind is always blank.

"Sorry sir if I cause any confusion." She said apologetically and the couple in front of her was still silent, looking at her and waiting for her explanation, "Just a week ago, Orm and I got back together. She is now my girlfriend and I intend to marry her.”

She saw the CEO clinging to the chair and sat down, while Mae Koy held her husband's shoulder, "I-i know that Orm like you before, Khun Ling but i didn't know that you felt the same way too."

Ling bowed her head. If only they knew.

Ling believes that there are things that are really destined and for her, she knows that it is Orm.

She remembered seeing her the first time. The young woman was still hung over from the alcohol and her hand was grabbing her head,  possibly from the dull ache of what she drank. She saw her walking absentmindedly and was looking like she was about to trip with the way her feet landed on the solid ground. Ling remembered that she  was about to help her when Orm suddenly bent down and threw up on her plants. The one that she tended for so long. The one that was so hard to grow, it took her multiple tries and a lot of effort.

Even though she got mad after that and even though they didn't get along when they first met, Ling knew that she fell in love the first time her eyes met those amber eyes. That's not the type that says, Damn, I'm in love. It's the kind of 'This is the girl that I want to marry and spend the rest of my day with.' type.

"Actually, I'm in love with her the first time that I saw her, Sir." She admitted. Her voice is becoming steady now. She is just imagining  that she’s in front of the Court and is defending herself. It made things easier for her. It’s her forte.
