"Tonight I can write the saddest lines
I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too."
― Pablo Neruda,

The next day, Ling didn't show up in the building, much to her delight. When she got home last night, she just caught her sibling having a midnight snack with their parents, and they were laughing about something when they asked who had dropped her off. When they discovered that it was Ling who had driven her, King was nearly foaming at the mouth. King was just about to stand up to see if Ling was still there, but she told her brother, in a teasing tone, that she had already left.

"P'Orm, what did you do?" King asked. "You should have invited her in!" Her brother was sulking while Orm was filling her empty stomach with the falafel that was in front of her.

"If you forgot, Turd. It's me who is your sister and not her." She poked her brother's head, but her parents looked at her with a funny expression dancing on their faces.

"What?" Her challenge to the parents. Mae Koy just smiled knowingly while her father shrugged and made her sit at their dinner table. She's been feeling hungry earlier so She started eating her falafel and washed it down with water. She's so tired and hungry that she don't know what to prioritize between the two.

"Dad, she said she knows a farm that could help us with the lack of supplies.." she said. They are already talking about the pre emptive plan that they will need to follow when she remembered what the Lawyer said.

Her father turned to her in disbelief. "Did Khun Ling say that?"

Orm looked at her Father. Based on his question and reaction, it seems that her father was already aware of it but only received confirmation from her.

"Yes. Why?" She nodded.

"Well, i've been asking her for it but she always refuse. Glad to know that she already agreed." Her Father said, smiling at her and Orm honestly dont know why.  Why is her Father asking Ling about farms? Does she happen to have a client that has one? She really wanted to sleep, so she just ignored her lingering questions, said good night to her parents, and shot King a glare before heading up to her room. She hasn't even had a chance to hear her father chuckling and saying something to her mother.

"It feels like I'm selling my daughter off." Her father laughs into the giggling ears of her mother.

The morning after, Orm was so disheartened to inform the board that the farms she contacted were not available, the dread she's feeling didn't dissipate as almost all of them were either already contracted or had already bid their produce. She can already envision the headache and long hours that await her. The gaping hole of their Frozen Durian in the market should be replaced with something else; she's considering other seasonal fruits and assessing the feasibility of it when a gentle knock was heard. She looks up from the paper she's reading.

"Miss, the CEO said that the meeting later at nine has been canceled." "Jen, her secretary said. Usually, her office was brimming of people, but due to recent events, some of them were out in the field, checking and ensuring that the rest of the products delivered to them were free of any possible pathogens. She sighed, it's really stressing her out.

"Dad said that?" She confirmed, and Jen nodded.

.

"But he said that he needs to talk to you during lunchtime." Her secretary stated, and she gave a slight nod. She looked at the clock and saw she still had two more hours before lunch break, so she took her phone and mindlessly scrolled through her Instagram. She has a lot of followers and just double-taps anything she finds funny or pleasing. When she remembers to check, she sees that one of her friends posted something about her birthday party, but she hasn't been able to view the pictures properly until now. So, she taps her search bar, but the first profile that appears there makes her wince.
