“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.’’

Orm woke up before her alarm. Still drowsy and with eyes closed,  she let out a big yawn and stretched her arms to wake her sleeping muscles. That week passed in a haze because of work and she has only seen the Attorney intermittently  because of the case she was handling.

Their previous supplier of the durian was found guilty of negligence and were required to provide compensation for what they’ve lost during the process. Orm's proud of her girlfriend. She saw how the Attorney worked diligently on the case and was religiously following up with her paralegal just to get new proof. so it's no wonder that she won the case.

Regardless of Ling's busy schedule though, she will always wake up every Saturday morning with the Attorney downstairs doing something. The first week that she was there, the Attorney prepared the soil and mapped the garden after planting some seedlings of Coneflowers and Cosmos that would serve as a partition. The second week was the busiest, Ling prepared the irrigation line and started planting hanging plants and vines that would wrap up the Pergola. A day prior to that, the softwood cuttings of roses that her mother loved so much arrived and the Attorney spent the rest of the day planting them and preparing mulches, an organic solid covering that would prevent unwanted grasses from growing and steal nutrients from plants.

Orm is curious and more than once she had already asked the Attorney why she was working in their garden. She has done everything, be gentle with her, threaten the Attorney, withdraw kisses from her lover for a day, even seduce Lingling but nothing could stop the Attorney as Ling would just simply lean in and steal kisses whenever they're alone. Ling will always have a triumphant smile afterwards which would make her just a little bit irritated because regardless of it all, Ling looks adorable.

What she knew is that this little project of hers has a timeframe of six Saturdays, hence, on the fifth weekend, Orm decided to join the Attorney.

Although sleepy, she dragged herself off from her bed and washed her face, making sure that she'll look fresh and beautiful in her girlfriend's eyes before wearing a simple t shirt over a short.  After she got off, she immediately brewed a coffee and put it on a thermos for Ling to drink later on.

The whole house is still quiet considering it is still dark. Her parents must have been still sleeping, particularly King, who enjoys sleeping in on weekends. Orm softly exited the home, smiling as she observed the changes in her mother's garden. The flowers are gradually growing, and those planted by the Attorney in the Pergola are also beginning to creep. Her mother was pleased with the progress of her garden and as evidence, before the work was even completed, her mom already purchased outdoor chairs and a table for the Pergola, where she usually hangs out.

The cool morning air greets her as she breathes it in. Fresh air flooded her system, driving away any drowsiness. She is not a morning person, but she knew her lover was. Ling seems to always enjoy the morning for some inexplicable reason, but her lips curled into a smile when she felt a stranger's strong arms wrap around her hips and felt the stranger  bury her face into her hair as she drew her closer. She smelled the Attorney's familiar fragrance before turning around, so she knew it was her. Orm smiled quietly when Ling gently kissed the back of her neck like a kid stroking.

"Hello there. The angel from my nightmare, the shadow in the background of the morgue.." Ling whispered and Orm let out a chuckle as she felt the immediate warmth against the cold morning air. A gentle heat spreads from her heart to the corners of her body. It's making her heart full.
