A blast from the Past

Finn said softly.

"She can't be.  I felt you last night.  I'm your true mate, Finn!" Sage sobbed.

"What I felt was your betrayal?  You being with her?  I was looking for white oak to kill your family for what they did to you.  I guess I'll add you to the list, too.  I have a friend here named Damon, I'm sure, will help." Sage glared.

"That you think I left a weapon that could kill any of my mates.  Or that impulsive fool Damon is still alive.  Oh, I destroyed him until literally nothing, but his soul was left.  And I still wasn't done with him.  No.  I took his soul to another realm and gave him to the true Lucifer Morningstar to be forever tortured in his hell." I said while slapping my knee in laughter.

"It's true.  I watched her do it.  She's pretty creative.  You know she tore his own arm from his body and bitch slapped him with it?  Truly creative.  Is this how Kol and Nik feel?  I didn't know I'd be critiquing violence so creatively." Finn pondered.

I lovingly patted Finn's cheek with an adoring smile on my face. 

"Anyway.  Sage, we're no longer bonded, so you'll no longer feel things from me.  Furthermore, you will forget the Mikaelson family exists.  You will forget me and, more importantly, my mate.  You will leave this country never to return.  You will find you happiness elsewhere." Finn compelled.

I let her go from the wall.

"Yeah, if you follow those directions, you'll easily reach the airport." I told her.

Sage looked confused but nodded before thanking us and leaving.

"Well, that was something." I stated.

"Yeah.  I never realized I had a sire bond with her." Finn said with a frown.

I felt a brief moment of sadness for Sage.

"Apparently, it happens when the person turned truly loves the vampire.  I learned that when I time walked and saw it happen to someone else." I explained.

I didn't feel it important to say it was my sister with Damon.  That was never going to happen now, so it didn't matter.  I saw guilt on Finn's face.

"Hey.  No guilt.  It's not your fault you didn't feel the same.  Or that she isn't your mate.  Also, she may have truly loved you, but I think by the time you were daggered, she was over it.  Because if she was really trying to find you, she would have.  A witch easily could have if Sage paid the witch." I said.

"Huh.  You're right.  What would I ever do without you, my angel?" Finn asked.

"Let's not find out, my Finny." I suggested.

It was later that evening at dinner that I was able to ask my other mates if they have exes I should expect to pop up.  They all looked to be deep and thought before shaking their heads no.

"You better hope so.  I was lenient with Sage.  I might not be so lenient next time." I declared with my eyebrow raised.

"On that note, let's retire by the pool for dessert, my darling.  Alone." Elijah requested.

I felt giddy as I rushed out our back French doors with a giggle.  I stopped next to our lounger by the pool.
