The bar was filled with the chatter of men and the smell of stale beer with a hint of cigars. The wooden walls magnified the sound of the voices that were spread out across the nearly empty establishment. I placed the nearly empty bottle on the table. Voices floated along the bar, and filled the nearly empty pub. I leaned back on the chair, lifting the chair slightly - closing my eyes as I did so.
"I could have handled it myself."
I smirked. Lifting the bottle back up to my lips, "you can keep telling yourself that, but it won't make it any truer."
I opened my eyes, only to see him huff- sinking down further into his seat. I tipped the bottle back against my lips - the drink burning a path down my throat.
We had arrived at the pub just moments ago, even thought I had met up with Theo two hours ago. When he had showed me the scene, I had known it was going to take quite a while to clean it up.

The ground was covered in cat hair, empty cages, and blood- Lots and lots of blood. I threw Theo a look, dropping my bag I switched my gaze back to the body. I sighed; the thing was mangled way beyond recognition. I ran my fingers threw my hair and let my gaze wander around to the scene around me. Dexter was scouting the only entrance to the alley, and Theo was standing not too far behind me- glaring a hole in the ground.
I whistled, catching both of their attentions.
I motioned for Theo to come over here.
"I'll wrap the body, and you can clean up the mess you made - that is if you're not going to throw up" I threw him a rag from my bag, as he shot me a dirty look.
Shoving me with his shoulder as he walked past me, he grumbled under his breath - "Bitch."
I shot him a wicked grin, "Only for you, Sweet cheeks!"

The door to the bar opened and everything suddenly went quiet. I ignored how tense the air had gotten within the short span of time, not taking even a minute because I already know what happened.
Around here- if a stranger walked into this bar. Things got tense- quickly. Usually, if a stranger walked into the bar, they were looking for directions. Very rarely, random people would walk into the bar looking for a drink.
The quiet chatter of the people sitting around the small bar returned, but now it was barely even a whisper over the sound of glasses hitting the tables, and alcohol being poured into vacant glasses. I tipped my bottle back to my lips, looking back up at Theo; he was looking behind me with a curious look upon his face. I reassured him that it was just some nobody's looking for directions.
I got up from my chair, grabbing both our bottles - "Want another?"
With the shake of his head, I headed towards the bar, gesturing for the barkeep towards me.
As he took the empties from my grasp, I leaned against the bar.
"Let me guess," he said eyeing me knowingly. "A bottle of Johnnie walker blue, two glasses?"
"One glass." I replied with a smirk.
H
e nodded, walking towards the shelves behind himself. As he looked around for the bottle I turned around to see a quite shocking sight.
"Actually," I said looking over my shoulder at bartender. "Better make it two."
I grabbed the bottle with one hand, and the two glasses with the ocher. I sauntered back over to the table that was now occupied by four more people. One I recognized. The other three were strangers.
But, I thought as I closed in on the table. Something tells me they won’t be strangers for long.
