Chapter 4: Hamunaptra

Bazaar No POV

The next day after the boat attack, the group settled in a small merchant place as the Warden was hit away by some women that were basically making sure he didn't get close to Evelyn as Rick and Wade watched as Jonathan argued with a vendor that was selling camels.

Jonathan: I only want four! Four! I only want four, not a whole bloody herd! O'Connell! Can you believe the cheek?

Rick: will you just pay the man.

Jonathan: <takes his wallet out> oh, for heaven's sake. Can't believe the price of these fleabags. <gives the vendor the money> yes, happy. Very good.

Rick: <grabs the leashes of two>

Wade: <does the same with the other two>

Rick: you probably could've got them for free. All we had to do was give him your sister.

Jonathan: yes. Awfully tempting, wasn't it?

Evelyn walked over in black clothing as she wore a veil around her face making her look beautiful as Wade smirks at Rick as he keeps walking.

Rick: awfully.

It wasn't long that they were back on track in their camels as Wade had to ride with Rick while the others had their own camels.

Jonathan: never did like camels. Filthy buggers. They smell, they bite, they spit.

Warden: <spits to the side>

Jonathan: disgusting.

Evelyn: I think they're adorable.

The Warden started singing in Arabic as they just kept going in their journey. It was long way as they passed dunes of endless sand, light sandstorms trying to deter them but they didn't give in, all under the blazing sun as they kept going in their way.

Jonathan grabbed a canteen of water as he drank some of it as Wade looked at the circular canteen.

Wade: you didn't just drink that, did you?

Jonathan: yes.

Wade: that's not good, that's nitroglycerin.

Jonathan: no! <hold his throat>

Wade: Don't move, don't breathe, don't do anything except... pray.

Evelyn: Boo!

Jonathan jumped as Wade and Evelyn laughed.

Jonathan: really funny.

It was now nighttime as Wade and Rick were still awake looking into the night as Evelyn was asleep as she looked like she was about to fall but Rick placed her in a position where she wouldn't fall as the camel was lowing and Rick shush it. The Warden was also asleep as Jonathan was trying to sleep but the Warden's loud snoring made that hard as Jonathan hit him with the stick whip as the Warden woke up startled and Jonathan pretended to be asleep.

Rick looked to his left as he tapped Wade and gestured into the horizon as Wade recognized the Medjai horsemen that watched them 3 years ago leave Hamunaptra.

Ardeth: <Arabic> these two are strong.

Next day, very early morning

The group arrived at a place at the same time as Beni, the Americans, the Egyptologist, and the dozens of diggers they brought with them as Beni was the only one riding a camel.

Beni; good morning, my friends.

Wade: look at you, you found another way. Good for you.

They all stopped as Rick, Beni, and Wade looked to the horizon.
