Chapter 5: a Warning not Heeded

Everyone was back on the surface and in their own camps.

Evelyn: what do you supposed killed him?

Jonathan: did you ever see him eat?

Rick: <walks over with Wade> seems that our America man friends had a little misfortune of their own today. Three of their diggers were melted.

Evelyn: what?

Jonathan: how?

Wade: salt acid. Pressurized salt acid. Some kind of ancient booby trap.

Jonathan: maybe this place really is cursed.

The wind howled suddenly as the guys looked at each other.

Evelyn: oh, for goodness' sake, you three!

Rick: you don't believe in curses?

Evelyn: no, I don't. I believe if I can see it and I can touch it, it's real. That's what I believe.

Rick: <cocks his shotgun> I believe in being prepared.

Wade: I believe in that every problem has an explosive solution.

Jonathan: <grabs the Warden's bag> let's see what our friend the warden believed in.

Jonathan sticks his hand in the Warden's bag as the camera zooms in on it before Jonathan screaming scarring the other three.

Rick: what?

Evelyn; my god, what is it?

Jonathan: a broken bottle. <takes out the bottle> Glenlivet, 12 years old! <opens it> he may have been a stinky fellow, but he had good taste. <takes a drink>

Rick and Wade heard horse whinnying but it seemed from like outside the city.

Rick: <gives his shotgun to Evelyn> take this. Stay here.

Rick and Wade walked away as Evelyn immediately followed.

Evelyn; no, wait, wait! Wait for me. Wait!

Jonathan: <followed> Evy! Excuse me, but didn't the man just say stay here?

The Medjai arrived and started attacking everyone.

Egyptologist: Mr Henderson! Wake up!

The Americans shot at the Medjai who had guns as the diggers were just getting slaughtered. Wade and Rick joined the fight firing at any Medjai in their field of view as Evelyn looked at the carnage as she turned around as she screamed and fired the shotgun killed the Medjai.

Jonathan was drinking while shooting at anyone that got close to him as Beni ran over and took his drink and started drinking but slowly looked behind them as Ardeth was going after them in his horse as Beni spits on Jonathan's face as he ran off and Jonathan ran while Ardeth chased him.

Jonathan: O'Connell!

Rick jumped and tackled Ardeth off his horse. They both got up as Rick shot the sword off Ardeth's hand and shot another Medjai before Ardeth took out a second sword and hit the gun off Rick's hands as Wade drops down and lights a dynamite with a long fuse with a campfire making Ardeth stop.

Ardeth; enough! We will shed no more blood, but you must leave. Leave this place or die. You have one day.

Ardeth gets on his horse as he shouts in Arabic and then the Medjai all leave as Wade pinches the fuse and puts it away as Rick walked over to Evelyn who was in her back with the shotgun still on her hands and pointing to the air.
