What Light's never really thought about was why and how. Why, out of every God complex-ed person existing, would (Y/N) choose him to suspect? How, considering all the work he's put into keeping his identity a secret, with no evidence to further back up her case, did she figure that out?

He needs to be much more careful, considering that fact that he's now aquainted with you. Maybe he did make the right decision though, since, wouldn't it make him suspicious to avoid her? And knowing how intelligent she is, she'd probably track that back to the notebook, and he'd be caught.

No, right now, he's at his best. You know nothing. You can't. There's no way.

I mean, writing your name just once in his Death Note can get you rid of immediately. No, but one, he'd lose his little subject (in the process of converting, of course), and two, it'd make him even more suspicious. Kira wouldn't be able to know her name unless Kira knew her. Or, well, knew what connections she had to the case.

He got too careless.

It's a test, yeah, that's all that is to it, a test to show how truly worthy he is to the position of the God of the New World. He's going to prove his superiority by keeping everything under control, and defeating L.

Converting you to Kira's side would be easy. You already supported Savia. How hard could it possibly be? To justify Kira's actions. Or to explain why he had to go to the lengths he did.

No, it can't be that easy. It's much too simple. You'd demand just as much as L would.

What's worse is if L already converted you out of Savia's side too. But if he was to try and convince you himself, then you'd report back to L on the situation, on the suspicions that arise.

Why did you have to be so close to L, anyways?

It annoys him. How is he supposed to try anything with L around? He couldn't even be around you without him right there, listening in! His only excuse is that you're both suspects, and sure, that's pretty obviously a good reason, for the first few hundred times he's said it, but Light knows that L is into you.

And he probably understands that much better than L himself understands it.

But, oh, just wait until he sees the face on L when he finally gets to make his move. When he gets you on his side. He doesn't know why, but he just knows that it'll feel like a victory, and especially after L dies, how triumphant he'll be. For now, though, he's stuck looking for a way to get to you. Or is it to get you, not get to you?

Like a trophy, something of the sort.

Something to keep around to remind him of his success.

Naivety.

Vulnerability.

All of the sort.

It makes a person weak. To L? It does too. And yet, he finds so much more to love about you. You're so... Naive. So intelligent, yet so unaware. Light's just as unaware to his own feelings, but you're unaware to everything that's going on outside your line of view.

And, although L doesn't know it, you're unaware to everything because you believe you know everything. Or, enough, at least. Seeing as you're hyperalert on everything, especially because of that foreseen vision, you believe that all you see and all you hear is all that happens.

It's not.

"Huh?! Another tape?" Matsuda sees in the hands of the chief. "Ryuzaki, what do you think?" The chief looks over to him, and he stares at it. "Let's find out what he says." He turns his head to you and Light.
