Maisie, Aggie, and Marnie had to wait for Dylan to get Sophie so she can conjure up Aggie's bedroom door, because Dylan refused to use magic because he wanted to be normal and thus refused to learn the spell to get inside Aggie's room.

It was a bit frustrating because it would go a lot faster if he used magic, but no.

Marnie had to run off to get Luke who wandered off again. So, Maisie took the head phone from Aggie and went to follow after Marnie, who got a hold of Luke. It looked like the orange part on his jacket had gone gray too.

"We're in," Dylan said over the head phone.

"Took you long enough," Maisie retorted in the head phone.

Marnie took the head phone from Maisie and spoke into it, "Look just find the spell book, all right."

After a moment, Dylan said, "It's not here."

"What does that mean?" asked Maisie.

"It should be on the table," Marnie said.

"Well, it's not," Dylan replied.

"Last I saw it, it was on the table," Maisie replied. It had been yesterday, but still. "It couldn't have gone far."

Aggie started walking to them.

"Maybe Grandma misplaced it," Dylan replied.

Maisie asked, "How does one misplace a giant spell book?"

"She misplaced the ogre," Dylan replied.

"Stinky was just playing hide-and-seek, Dylan," Maisie replied.

"Someone must have taken it," Aggie stated. She took the head phone from Marnie and spoke into it, "Did any of you go into my room since I came down for the party?"

Maisie shook her head, "No."

"Not me," Dylan said.

"Not me," Sophie said.

Maisie could feel guilt coming from Marnie and she looked at Marnie. "Marnie?"

Aggie looked at Marnie too.

"Um, well, I was," Marnie said. "For a few minutes."

"I could actually feel your guilt all the way over here," Maisie pointed out.

"Well, did someone go in with you?" asked Aggie.

Maisie could still feel the guilt from Marnie, who spoke, "Well, just this boy I met, Kal."

Maisie could feel the shock from Aggie.

Maisie looked at Marnie, "Really?"

"But he couldn't have taken it," Marnie defended. "'Cause I was with him the whole time."

"He must be the one I felt coming," Sophie said. "He stole it, Grandma."

"It could've been somebody else," Marnie defended. "I mean," She looked at her watched, "W-we've been gone for almost an hour."

"He could've come back inside after he took off and we were distracted," Maisie said.

"Well, only you, Marnie, Grandma, and Sophie know the spell to get in," Dylan pointed out.

"Children," Aggie spoke in the head phone. "You seal my room." She looked at Marnie, "I'm going to go back and have a talk with Marnie's new friend." She walked away, leaving Marnie to feel guilt and hurt.

Maisie patted Marnie's arm and followed after Aggie.

They stopped in the square where Aggie wrung her hands together.
