Maisie also had history class together with Marnie.

Marnie went up to the teacher's desk and whispered to Aggie, probably something about not drawing any more attention to themselves.

Maisie sat at a desk in front of Cody, who also shared the class with them.

Once Aggie and Marnie done talking, Marnie sat down and Aggie clapped once, "So, welcome to history. Though Modern Fiction might be a more apt title." She chuckled and said, "So, we'll start with Chapter 15: The Renaissance. Oh, so many fond memories."

Maisie gave Aggie a look as she opened her textbook, but at least it seems like the class overlooked it. Maybe they thought she was talking about Ren Faires.

"Now, the Renaissance was also called the Age of Enlightenment," Aggie said. "And that's just because between the plague and all of the boneheads in charge refusing to write things down. People pretty much forgot everything they learned for the past five thousand years."

Maisie was trying to take notes, not surprised because it wasn't called the Dark Ages for nothing. However, it was a bit weird having Marnie look over her shoulder, past Maisie, and right at Cody.

"And divine the ancients were," Aggie continued. "Except for their breath. It's always hummus this and hummus that. Oh, but that's another topic. It was also where we supposedly discovered the new world."

Maisie tried to ignore the excited feeling that came from Marnie, and how Marnie turned around and whispered 'yes,' to Cody. Maisie wished they would stop their flirting for five seconds so she can focus on Aggie's lecture.

"'New to whom?' is my question," Aggie said. "Now. I don't care what it says, Columbus did not discover America."

Maisie couldn't help but lean forward and whispered, "Fascinating." She found Aggie's history lesson way more fun than chemistry.

"He couldn't find his socks, let alone a continent," Aggie stated.

"That's because he thought he hit India, right?" Maisie couldn't help but ask. "That's why he called the Natives, Indians?"

Aggie smiled, "That's right."

Maisie saw Marnie wave a finger and the bell rang. She felt irritated that Marnie didn't find the class interesting.

Aggie chuckled, "Tomorrow, somebody remind me to tell you a funny story about da Vinci. Oh, there was a good reason why the Mona Lisa was smiling."

"Who knows what she's talking about?" a girl said to her friend, "She came with the rest of those foreign exchange freaks. Talk about a bunch of losers."

Maisie glared. Just because it was different than what the history books says, didn't make it wrong. The bottom of the girl's backpack just ripped open, and all her school stuff spilled out.

Maisie and Marnie both walked by the girl.

Students were gathered in the halls and the stairs as a message went over the PA system, "Maintenance, please reset all classroom clocks to the correct time."

Maisie went to the locker to hang out with the Boo Crew, because that's where she assumed they went when she didn't see them in the cafeteria

Maisie went to the locker to hang out with the Boo Crew, because that's where she assumed they went when she didn't see them in the cafeteria. She was right.

She sat down at a side table. Ethan joined. Maisie looked at Ethan's red plaid blazer, "Just saying, the plaid blazer does not look good on you." She noticed that there was a spider pin on Ethan's tie. Was that Cassie's spider pin?

Ethan looked at the leather cord necklace, "What's with the leather cord? There's no pendant."

Maisie shrugged, "Oh. There was a pendant, but I lost it. It's probably with Gort."

Cassie and Marnie came through the locker.

"Just got one question," Marnie started. "What are you all doing here? We're not risking our futures so you guys can hide out in the back of a locker." She walked to the empty chair, speaking, "I mean, come on. You guys gotta get out there. Participate."

"Participate?" Ethan asked, "What do you mean, participate?"

Maisie was confused, "Like join a club or two. Try out for sports?"

Marnie stood up, went to the apples, and reached over, grabbing one. She turned around, "Hey, Pete. Think fast!" She threw the apple.

Pete climbed up the wall and caught the apple in his mouth. Maisie was impressed.

"Good catch, bro," Chester said.

"Nice one," a guy said.

"Ah, see?" Marnie said, "There is no reason you shouldn't try out for the football team."

"Try your paws instead of your mouth," suggested Aggie.

Pete seemed confused, "Huh?"

"What?"

"That's how you play football," Maisie said, holding up her hands. "We use our hands or paws."

"She's right," Marnie said. "Ooh, Nancy, how about the gardening club? No better gardener than a wood nymph." She looked over, "And Chester? How about trying out for the wrestling team, huh?"

"I don't wrestling," Chester stated.

"Well, what do you like?" asked Marnie.

"I like stamps," Chester said, holding up a stamp collection.

"There's a club for that," Maisie said. Kimberly was part of that club.

"You know, I always wanted to be in a play," Ethan said. He seemed to be a bit embarrassed for admitting that.

"Auditions are coming up for that," Maisie told him.

"See, we're all here to make connections and celebrate common bonds," Marnie said. "I mean, if we're gonna do it, then let's do it, right?"

"What can I do?" asked Aggie.

"You've already done enough," Marnie told her. "Trust me."

"I know," Cassie started. "All the clubs are doing a booth for the Halloween carnival. We should do a booth too."

Maisie smiled at her, "That's a great idea."

"If anyone can show these mortals a thing or two about Halloween...maybe a haunted house," Aggie said, getting up.

"Ooh, that's a great idea," Marnie said. "Hey. Cassie, you can be in charge and give everybody a job. Okay? So it's settled? We're all going to sign up for something?"

"Yeah," Natalie said.

"Great," Marnie replied.

"I pity the knight that has to tussle with you and Mai," Aggie told Marnie and smacked the suit of armor. She winced in pain.
