As the morning sun peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the rural hideout, the group finally stirred awake after a rare peaceful night. Freen woke up first, careful not to disturb Becky, who was still nestled comfortably beside him. She looked so serene that he couldn't help but reach out and gently brush a stray hair from her face.
"Good morning, Baby," he whispered, smiling as she began to stir.
Becky opened her eyes slowly, blinking up at him with a sleepy smile. "Good morning, Bunny," she replied, her voice soft and warm. She wrapped her arms around him for just a moment longer, feeling safe and at ease.
The others began to wake up and gathered for a quick breakfast, and Nam looked over, noticing how close Freen and Becky were. "Well, look at our lovebirds this morning," she teased, winking. "Can you two get any closer?"
Kade smirked, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Probably not, but knowing them, they'll find a way."
"Aw, come on, give them a break," Noey said, a playful grin on his face. He then glanced at Irin, giving her a slightly shy look as he remembered how she'd helped take care of his injuries. She noticed his look and offered him a sweet, encouraging smile, which made him turn slightly pink.
Freen gave an exaggerated sigh, pulling Becky close with one arm. "Don't mind them, Princess," he said with a grin. "They're just envious."
"Envious? Us?" Kade scoffed, though his laughter betrayed him. "I think the term you're looking for is entertained."
As they were finishing breakfast, Freen spotted a small trail leading into the woods. He leaned over to Becky. "Wanna explore a little, Becbec? It could be a fun little adventure before we start planning our next steps."
Becky's eyes lit up with excitement. "Absolutely! Let's go!"
Nam raised an eyebrow as she watched them head off. "Just don't get lost out there, you two!"
They started down the trail, Becky playfully tugging Freen along. They followed the winding path, soaking in the peacefulness of the trees, their laughter filling the quiet woods. As they reached a small clearing, Freen pulled her to a stop, looking down at her with an amused smile.
"Look at you, Baby," he said softly, "charging ahead like you're on a quest."
Becky giggled. "Well, I have my brave Bunny with me, don't I?"
Freen chuckled, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "And I'll keep you safe, no matter what," he promised, his gaze warm and sincere.
Just then, they heard a rustling behind them, and they both turned quickly, only to see Noey and Irin catching up with them.
"We couldn't let you two have all the fun!" Noey called out, grinning as he and Irin joined them.
Becky gave Irin a warm smile. "We're just exploring. It's so peaceful out here."
The four of them continued down the trail, sharing stories, and the morning turned into a mini adventure, reminding them of the strength and bond they shared. As they finally made their way back to the hideout, they were greeted by the others, who looked as though they'd been waiting for an update.
"Well?" Kade asked, arms crossed and grinning. "Did our lovebirds survive their grand adventure?"
Becky rolled her eyes, laughing. "Yes, we did! And it was amazing!"
Nam and Heng exchanged a look. "Good," Nam said with a smirk, "because you're not leaving us just yet."
Everyone laughed, their spirits light and hopeful as they prepared for whatever awaited them next. They knew they had each other—and their little adventures and moments of peace would keep them strong.
