As Freen regained his footing, the weight of the moment pressed heavily on him. The rain drummed relentlessly against the windows, a backdrop to the silence that had fallen after the skirmish. But the reprieve was short-lived, as a heavy thud echoed from the front of the safe house, followed by the unmistakable sound of boots.

"Mike's here," Kade muttered, his face tightening with determination.

"Who's Mike?" Becky asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Freen's jaw clenched. "He's the one behind all this. The leader of the thugs. We've had run-ins before."

"Great. Just what we need," Becky replied, gripping her crowbar tightly. "What's the plan?"

Kade stepped back, assessing the available exits. "We can't let him take us one by one. If we stick together, we have a better chance."

"Agreed," Heng said, moving toward a small closet where they had stashed more weapons. "Let's set up a defensive line here. If he comes through the door, we'll be ready."

As they positioned themselves, the front door burst open with a crash, and Mike stepped in, flanked by two more thugs. He was tall, with a menacing grin that sent chills down Freen's spine.

"Did you really think you could fight back?" Mike taunted, surveying the room with a confidence that made Freen's blood run cold. "You're outnumbered and outmatched."

Kade took a step forward, brandishing a pipe. "We're not going down without a fight, Mike."

"Fight? That's adorable," Mike sneered, his eyes flickering to Freen, who had regained his stance. "You think you can take me? You should've stayed out of my way."

Before Freen could respond, Mike signaled to his thugs, who lunged forward, weapons raised. Kade and Heng moved to intercept, but Freen felt a surge of adrenaline. He pushed himself up, ignoring the pain, and grabbed the metal rod.

"Get back!" Freen shouted, swinging the rod at the nearest thug, connecting with a satisfying thud. The thug stumbled, but Mike's remaining henchman retaliated, charging at Freen.

"Freen, behind you!" Becky shouted, but he was already in motion, using the momentum to pivot and swing again.

As chaos erupted, Kade and Heng were locked in a fierce struggle with Mike's thugs, but Mike remained unscathed, watching the fight unfold with a predatory gleam in his eye.

"You're tougher than I thought," Mike said, his voice dripping with disdain. "But you won't last."

"Neither will you," Freen spat back, pushing through the pain. He swung at the thug again, narrowly missing.

Becky was at his side now, wielding her crowbar with fierce determination. "We can't let him get to you, Freen. Stay focused!"

Kade tackled one of the thugs, while Heng delivered a solid blow to the other, but Mike remained a looming threat, watching them with cold, calculating eyes.

"Enough of this," Mike growled, taking a step forward. "I'll finish this myself."

With that, he lunged at Freen, who barely managed to dodge, the metal rod clashing against Mike's weapon. The impact sent shockwaves through Freen's arms, but he stood his ground.

"Is this the best you've got?" Freen taunted, trying to mask his fear with bravado.

Mike's expression twisted into a snarl. "You have no idea what you're up against." He struck again, and Freen barely parried the blow, the force almost knocking him off balance.

"Freen, watch out!" Becky shouted, and Freen's heart raced as he saw the second thug rejoining the fight, aiming straight for her.

In a split-second decision, Freen dropped his guard, shifting his attention. "Becky, move!" he yelled, launching himself toward her just as the thug swung.

Freen took the hit meant for her, the impact sending him crashing to the floor. The pain in his side flared anew, but he couldn't let her see him falter. Gritting his teeth, he pushed himself up again, seeing red.

"Get away from her!" Freen roared, lunging at the thug with a renewed ferocity. He swung the metal rod, catching the thug off guard and sending him sprawling to the ground.

But Mike wasn't finished. He charged at Freen, his eyes blazing with fury. "You should have stayed down!"

Freen braced himself, heart pounding, as Mike closed the distance. He had to end this, not just for himself, but for Becky and the others.

With a final, desperate swing, Freen brought the rod down, catching Mike in the shoulder. The force knocked the villain back, and for a moment, Freen felt hope surge.

"Now!" Kade shouted, rallying the group. Together, they pushed against Mike, determined to finish the fight.

Freen, breathing heavily, steadied himself. "This ends here, Mike. You've tormented us long enough."

As the rain lashed against the windows, Freen knew the battle was far from over, but with his friends by his side, he was ready to face whatever darkness came their way.

As the fight intensified, the door swung open again, and Noey burst in, flanked by a couple of trusted allies. "Get back!" he shouted, assessing the chaos in an instant. "We're here to help!"

"Thank God!" Kade yelled, relief flooding his voice. "We could use it right about now!"

Noey wasted no time, swiftly taking down one of Mike's thugs with a well-aimed kick. "Everyone, regroup! We need to get out of here before more show up!"

Freen, still recovering from his earlier injuries, felt a surge of hope. "Let's go! We can't let Mike regroup!"

With Noey leading the charge, the group fought their way through the remaining thugs, pushing toward the exit. Freen glanced back at Becky, who was fending off an attacker with fierce determination. "Stick together!" he urged, his voice strained but resolute.

In a flurry of movement, they made their way outside, the storm still raging as they sprinted toward Noey's vehicle. "Get in!" Noey shouted, ushering everyone inside as he slammed the door shut behind them.

As they sped away from the safe house, Freen leaned back against the seat, panting. "Did we lose them?" he asked, glancing out the window.

"For now," Noey replied, gripping the wheel tightly. "But we need to get to safety and regroup."

After a tense drive through the storm, they arrived at Freen's mansion, a place he had long considered a sanctuary. As they piled out of the car, Freen could feel the weight of his injuries pressing down on him again.

"Let's get you treated," Noey said, guiding Freen toward the entrance. "I've already called Dr. Ling."

Inside, the atmosphere shifted. The familiar warmth of home was a stark contrast to the chaos they had just escaped. Freen led them to the sitting room, where Dr. Ling was already waiting.

"Freen!" Dr. Ling exclaimed, rushing over with a medical kit. "What happened?"

"Just a fight," Freen said, trying to sound casual, but his body betrayed him as he winced in pain.

"Let's take a look." Dr. Ling gently peeled away the bandages, revealing the wound that had been hastily wrapped. "You've been through a lot. I need to clean this and stitch it up."

Becky stayed close, her eyes filled with concern. "I'm so sorry, Freen. I didn't want you to get hurt."

"Don't blame yourself," Freen replied, his voice steady despite the pain. "We had to stand together."

As Dr. Ling worked, Freen felt the bond with his friends strengthen. They had faced the darkness and come out alive. "We'll figure out how to deal with Mike," he assured them. "He won't get away with this."

Kade nodded, determination etched on his face. "We need a plan, and we need it fast. Mike won't stop."

"Agreed," Noey added, leaning against the wall. "But first, let's get you patched up, Freen. We'll take it from there."

As the doctor finished, Freen felt a flicker of strength return. Surrounded by friends, he knew they could face whatever darkness lay ahead. Together, they would prepare for the fight that was still to come.
