A Special Morning
The sun had barely risen over the mansion when a flurry of excitement broke the calm. Becky, still groggy, sat up in bed as Freen rushed into the room, holding a ringing phone.
"Princess, it's Heng," Freen said, his voice tinged with urgency. "Nam's contractions have started. He's taking her to the hospital."
Becky's sleepiness vanished instantly. "What? She's early! She's only eight months along!"
"I know," Freen replied, already pulling on his jacket. "But Heng said she's doing fine so far. Come on, let's get the kids ready and head over."
Becky nodded, her heart pounding with both excitement and worry.
The Hospital Rush
By the time they reached the hospital, the waiting room was already buzzing. Irin and Noey were there, holding hands, with Noey looking as nervous as Becky felt. Kade had arrived too, her boyfriend Kirk standing close by, offering quiet reassurance.
"Heng's inside with Nam," Irin said, giving Becky a quick hug. "She's doing well so far, but the doctors said it might be a long labor."
Becky bit her lip, glancing at Freen, who had their twins perched on each arm. Sam and Finley looked around curiously, unaware of the gravity of the situation.
"Mommy," Sam whispered, tugging on Becky's sleeve. "Is Auntie Nam okay?"
"She's going to be just fine, sweetheart," Becky replied softly, stroking his hair.
As the hours ticked by, the group did their best to stay calm. Becky kept the twins entertained with snacks and stories, while Freen exchanged quiet words of support with Heng whenever he emerged from the delivery room.
The Baby's Arrival
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Heng came out with the biggest smile on his face. His eyes were red-rimmed, and his voice trembled as he announced, "She's here. Our baby girl is here."
Cheers erupted in the waiting room. Becky hugged Freen tightly, tears of joy spilling over. Irin and Noey embraced each other, and even Kade wiped away a tear as Kirk patted Heng on the back.
"Nam's okay?" Freen asked, his voice steady but filled with concern.
"She's exhausted, but she's okay," Heng replied. "The baby's a little small, but the doctors say she's healthy."
"Can we see them?" Becky asked eagerly.
Heng nodded, leading them to the room.
Inside, Nam was lying in bed, looking tired but radiant. In her arms was a tiny bundle wrapped in a pink blanket. Becky's heart melted at the sight.
"Come meet Mon," Nam said softly, her voice filled with love.
Freen gently set the twins down, holding their hands as they approached the bed. Sam and Finley stared in awe at the little baby, their curiosity lighting up their faces.
"She's so small," Finley whispered.
"Can we play with her?" Sam asked innocently.
"Not yet, buddy," Freen chuckled, ruffling his hair. "You'll have to wait until she's a bit bigger."
Becky leaned in to kiss Nam's forehead. "She's beautiful, Nam. You did amazing."
Nam smiled weakly. "I couldn't have done it without Heng. He didn't leave my side for a second."
Heng squeezed her hand, his love and pride evident. "You're the amazing one, babe."
As the family took turns holding baby Mon, the room was filled with joy and laughter. Sam and Finley couldn't stop staring at their new cousin, and Becky felt a wave of gratitude for moments like this—moments that reminded her how precious life was.
Freen, holding Mon for the first time, looked at Becky with a playful smirk. "You know, Princess, this makes me want another one."
Becky rolled her eyes but couldn't help smiling. "Let's survive the ones we have first, Bunny."
The room erupted in laughter, and Mon let out a tiny cry, as if to remind everyone she was the star of the moment.
Heng and Nam looked at their little girl with pure love, and everyone knew this was just the beginning of many beautiful memories to come.
