The mansion had been unusually lively over the past week, but Becky was far from her usual cheery self. She spent more time lounging on the couch, nibbling on bizarre combinations of food, or snapping at Freen over trivial matters, only to apologize seconds later with teary eyes. Freen, on the other hand, was completely baffled by her behavior.
"Princess," Freen said gently one morning as Becky dramatically threw her blanket over her head. "You can't stay in bed all day."
"I feel awful," she mumbled. "And you keep bothering me! Can't you just let me rest, Bunny?"
Freen sighed but didn't push her. He had noticed she'd been throwing up for days and had gone from craving mango slices dipped in chili sauce to pickles with peanut butter. Even though he didn't understand her, he let her do as she pleased.
However, her erratic behavior was starting to worry not just him but everyone in the house.
Nam and Heng had been watching Becky closely, and Heng finally broke the silence as Becky demanded spicy noodles with ice cream in the middle of a movie.
"Nam," Heng whispered, nudging her partner. "Does this seem... familiar to you?"
Nam frowned, tilting her head. "What do you mean?"
"You know... mood swings, cravings, and that morning sickness? Doesn't that sound like—" Heng stopped as Becky suddenly burst into tears because the noodles weren't spicy enough.
Nam blinked. "Oh my gosh. Do you think she's...?"
"Pregnant?" Heng finished, her voice low.
Nam nodded, her eyes wide. "We have to talk to her about this. If it's true, Freen's going to lose his mind—in the best way."
The next morning, Nam and Heng cornered Becky in the kitchen as she sulked over a cup of chamomile tea.
"Becky," Nam started carefully, sitting beside her. "Can we talk about something?"
"Sure," Becky said, taking a sip. "What's up?"
"Well, we've noticed you've been feeling unwell lately," Heng said gently. "And there are... some symptoms that make us wonder if you might need a checkup."
Becky blinked, confused. "What do you mean?"
Nam hesitated before saying, "Becky, have you thought about the possibility that you might be... pregnant?"
Becky nearly spat out her tea. "What? No! I mean... I don't think so. Do you really think that's possible?"
"It's definitely worth checking out," Heng said with a smile. "It's better to know for sure.
Later that day, Becky nervously visited the doctor with Nam and Heng by her side. After running a few tests, the doctor returned with a bright smile.
"Congratulations, Miss Becky," she said warmly. "You're about six weeks pregnant."
Becky's jaw dropped, tears filling her eyes as she looked at Nam and Heng. "I'm... I'm really going to be a mom?"
Nam grinned, pulling her into a hug. "You are, Becbec! And Freen's going to be a dad."
"But how do I tell him?" Becky asked, her hands trembling with excitement and nerves.
Heng's eyes lit up. "His birthday is coming up, right? Let's make it a surprise. It'll be the best gift he's ever received.
For the rest of the week, Becky, Nam, and Heng worked together to keep the news under wraps. It wasn't easy—Becky's cravings and mood swings made Freen more suspicious by the day.
"Becbec," Freen asked one evening as she devoured an entire jar of olives, "are you sure you're okay? Should I call Doctor Ling?"
"I'm fine, Bunny," Becky said quickly, stuffing another olive into her mouth. "Stop worrying so much."
Freen narrowed his eyes but didn't press further.
When Freen's birthday finally arrived, the mansion was buzzing with excitement. The living room was decorated with balloons, streamers, and a massive cake that Noey had baked. Freen was surrounded by his friends, but his eyes were glued to Becky, who seemed more nervous than usual.
"Happy birthday, Bunny," Becky whispered, giving him a quick kiss.
"Thank you, Princess," Freen replied, his heart melting at her sweet gesture.
After dinner, Nam stood up, holding a small gift box. "Okay, everyone! It's time for the main gift of the night."
Freen raised an eyebrow. "What's this?"
Nam handed him the box, and Becky stood behind her, fidgeting nervously. "Open it, Babe," she said softly.
Freen unwrapped the box, revealing a tiny pair of baby shoes inside. He stared at them, confused at first, until the realization hit him like a bolt of lightning.
"Becky... Are you...?"
Becky nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. "You're going to be a daddy, Bunny."
Freen's eyes filled with tears as he stood, pulling Becky into a tight embrace. "We're having a baby?"
"We are," Becky said, laughing through her tears.
The room erupted into cheers, and Nam and Heng exchanged proud smiles. Noey clapped Freen on the back. "Looks like you're not just Bunny anymore—you're Daddy Bunny now!"
Freen laughed, holding Becky close. "This is the best birthday gift I could ever ask for."
As the celebration continued, Freen couldn't stop looking at Becky, his heart overflowing with love and gratitude. For him, life had finally come full circle—he was no longer alone, and his family was about to grow in the most beautiful way possible.
