The Spatial Goddess (Thor X OC)

Chapter 28

Nova's P. O. V:

We soon reach Greenwich Station and Thor and I rush off, heading outside where people are screaming in fear and running away. Before us, is a huge, swirling tornado of Aether.

"Thor! Nova!" We turn our heads to see Jane and Erik running up to us. It was Jane who'd called. "Thor! Nova! We're too late." They stop on either side of me and Thor.

Erik states, "The convergence is at its peak."

I ask as I glance at the devices in his hands, "Will those things stop it?"

"Not from here," Says Erik.

"We can't get close enough," Jane says.

"I can," Thor says before reaching past me to get the gravitational sticks from Erik. We watch as he runs straight into the aether, bending forwards against it.

"Malekith!" Thor exclaims, instantly gaining his attention, causing the Dark Elf to turn.

"You have returned, Asgardian! Have you come to witness the end of your universe?" Malekith questions.

"I've come to accept your surrender," Thor says before throwing the stick in his right hand but Malekith easily catches it. I glance at Jane as she turns a knob on the device, which is now beeping loudly. The stick in the elf's hand vanishes, along with his hand. Thor throws the second and it embeds into Malekith's left shoulder. That one, too, vanishes.

Along with Malekith's arm as it disappears.

Malekith wants to know, "You think you can stop this?! The Aether cannot be destroyed!"

Thor responds, "But you can."

Moljnir soon comes flying past us and into the swirling tornado of aether. It crackles with lightning before Thor strikes Malekith with it. The Dark Elf is thrown out of the tornado of Aether and he strikes a building.

Jane instantly turns the knob again and Malekith vanishes with a cry of rage.

The Aether vanishes eventually, revealing an unconscious Thor. Gasping, I race over, Jane following close behind. We pause by a pillar, hearing a rumbling sound. We look up I see Malekith's ship collapsing into the ground and tilting towards the Norse god.

"Thor!!" Jane and I scream worriedly as we race over to him.

Jane and I turn Thor over and try to haul him to his feet, but Thor is heavy.

Just as we were pulling Thor up, Erik calls worriedly, "Jane! Nova!"

We look up to see Malekith's ship nearing us. I throw myself on top of Thor, shielding him with my own body.

But a heartbeat later, the ship vanishes into thin air. I was utterly confused.

"Huh...? Where'd it go?" Even as I wonder, I still figure the ship must've gone to where Malekith is, and I grin at the thought of the elf being crushed by his own ship.

Erik asks, "Everybody okay?"

I turn my head and give Erik a nod as Jane looks to see the incoming ship vanished. I then hug Thor, putting my head on his chest.

I stare in surprise as Darcy and Ian wrap their arms around each other and kiss passionately.

Thor tells Jane he has to go back to Asgard to work some stuff out with his father. Jane had offered to let me stay the night at her apartment, however, I'd politely declined. I asked Thor if I could go with him, so I could pick up my stuff.

Thor had agreed and summoned the Bifrost to take us to Asgard.

I make sure I've grabbed my headphones and phone, before heading to the Bifrost room to go home. I meet Thor on the way and we pause in a corridor.

"Thank you for everything, Nova," He says, squeezing my shoulder.

I throw my arms around him in a fierce hug which he returns.

"What will you do now?" I ask.

"I'll protect the Nine Realms by travelling through them," He says. "I'll be gone for awhile."

I hug him tighter.

"I'll miss you, Thor," I whisper.

"As I you, Nova," Thor whispers back. Our lips connect with each other.

After another long moment, we pull back and I take a deep breath. He smiles at me as I pull away, which I return, and I head for the Bifrost.

When I get to the domed room, I incline my head to Heimdall who pushes the huge sword into the lock and twists it, opening up the portal that'll take me home.

I spare Heimdall a final smile before I step into the portal to my home world, leaving Asgard behind.

I reappear in my own front yard, back in New Mexico.

I was home.
