Exploring Eggman's base

"I can do this. Don't worry.", Sonic said with a smirk. The rest of them knew it was a horrible idea. "Sonic, wait! Don't go, please! What if you turn into whatever happens there?", Amy said, giving him a hug in fear, only for Sonic to awkwardly reassure everything will be fine, and before anyone else could say anything, he went inside.

"Alright, I've done this before. Go this way, then...", said Sonic, memorizing the layout of the base, but something was happening in the background.

There were hundreds of security cameras pointing all over, leaving no safe spots, and Sonic being careless, didn't notice them. Eggman checked them and panicked a little, so he did his experiment sooner than he should have. "Might still be a prototype, but it's the best I got!", said Eggman, still feeling fine and smiling. As he walked away from the securiry room, he went to experiment on his first subject.

Heri, the cat that got infected first, was tied on a chair, trying to free himself, but failing. He saw the same laser that shot Tails lowering from the ceiling, scaring him, causing him to visibly shake.

"Hello, cat. Hope you're making yourself comfortable...", said Eggman, in his usual evil tone. "This laser right here is a little friend of mine. Let's just say it'll make a new friend for me.". Heri was confused and stopped struggling. "Umm... OK? What do you mean by that, exactly?", he continued as Eggman explained the use and reason afterward, making him worry about his future fate. "[Sonic, help me...]", he thought to himself.

Meanwhile, outside...

As Amy got worried, she was about to sneak in when Silver grabbed her hand, telling her it's a bad idea to go in there. "But what about Sonic? He could be in danger and be attacked, ruining OUR future. Yours is already ruined. We don't want the same fate.", she told him in a nervous and worried way, only for Silver to tell her it will be fine. However, she didn't follow him and ran inside, trying to help Sonic. Unfortunately, they couldn't stop her. "*sigh* Well, time to go in, I guess. Come o- huh?", Silver said, before cutting himself off, seeing Knuckles gliding to a hole on the top of the base.

"[What is he doing here? How did he know we were going to come?]", thought past Tails, since no one told him about it. He decided to go in. "Well, since Amy's going, let's go, come on, guys.", he said, and they hesitantly agreed, as they walked inside.

Meanwhile...

Eggman activated the laser, allowing it to charge. Sonic noticed it, but it was going to shoot the virus into him. Unfortunately, he was too late, but Knuckles went inside through the hole and destroyed the laser. This stopped and shocked Sonic. "Knuckles? What are you doing here?", he said, very confused and slightly startled. Knuckles explained the Master Emerald gave him a vision of what they were doing, so he came to help.

"I see...", Sonic said, understanding the situation, as he went to Heri, untying him. "Don't worry, buddy. You'll be free in a second, O...K...".

Before Sonic freed him, Eggman came back and tranquilized him. "Perfect bait! Cat, I no longer need you. This is a better choice!", Eggman exclaimed as he added a small capsule filled with the virus in the dart gun, pointing it at him. Just before he shot him, Knuckles went to him and tried to wrestle the gun off of him, but Eggman threw him, making him roll on the ground and hitting his head, knocking him out.

Right when it happened, Amy managed to make it to him and smashed the capsule with her hammer. However, she saw he wasn't panicking. "You thought my plan was that easy to destroy? Just you wait...", said Eggman with a big evil smile. Right after, a robot grabbed her by the area where her neck would be, closing her airway, causing her to be lifted and trying to free herself. While she was struggling, Dr. Eggman couldn't help but smile in a maniacal way, seeing one of his enemies lose air.

Unfortunately, neither of them were waking up to save her, and she was starting to slow down, not being able to speak, and shutting her eyes forcefully. All she was doing was failing at gasping for air, getting nothing. After about a minute, she stopped moving, and the robot let her go, letting her drop. Thinking she was gone, Eggman ignored her and used a drill-like object to hit Sonic, but before that, he suddenly heard something. Amy quickly woke up and gasped for air and coughed due to the quick air intake.

However, he stepped on her head, pushing her down, pointing the  drill object at her head, turning it on. "Sorry, Sonic... I tried, but I couldn't... bye...", she said until something took the object out of his hand. Turned out the rest showed up. "Amy, are you OK?", yelled Silver, which Amy responded with a quick yes. However, Dr. Eggman was filled with failsafes, as he grabbed the hammer without them knowing, and snapped it in half with his leg, making Amy gasp as soon as she heard that. "Oh, NOW you're getting it!", she yelled at him, ready for a punch, only for him to punch her in the cheek, causing her to roll and fall, rubbing it in pain. Without anyone knowing, Sonic slowly started to wake up, and walked to Heri half asleep, having a limp due to him not being fully awake.

"Hey... I'll let... *yawn*... let you out...", Sonic said very slowly as he freed Heri, who hugged him in happiness. "Follow me...", he said, and he held Sonic's hand, knowing it would take way too long if Sonic walked there, and went to a room. The room turned out to be a warehouse-like room filled with giant capsules filled with a serum containing the virus. "If we destroy the source, we win. You can do it, Sonic... in a moment, at least.", Heri said, as he saw Sonic lose balance.

"Hmm... what... to do...", Sonic wondered, still a little groggy, until he came up with a plan. Why not just hide it in the ground in a secret location? That way, by the time someone finds it, it's likely decayed. While the others were fighting, he used it as a distraction. However, he had a better idea...

Sonic returned to the room, seeing the 5 teammates doing OK making it through, and he decided to use the virus against him. "HEY, EGGHEAD!", yelled Sonic at Eggman, who turned around angrily, but got scared when he saw Sonic using a gun with serum capsules in it. "Smile!", he said as he shot it at Eggman, giving him less intelligence, but not as much as a standard Flicky, but instead not being as smart as he used to be, making his robot expertise worthless, making him mostly harmless.

As they dumbed him down, Sonic told them where the rest was, and they all followed him, and Heri followed suit once they got to the room, and they took all the capsules and dumped them in a secret area, right before covering them, waiting for it to decay and become worthless.

As they finished everything, Silver smiled, but Blaze had an unsure mind. "Silver... but what about Tails... our Tails... everything we've done has been for nothing in a new future.", she said, facing downwards in sadness, only for Silver to lift her head. "I'll write a note and give it to you. I'll let you know about this, OK? Let's return. Bye, everyone.", Silver said, as they left. While leaving, Tails from behind the rock suddenly disappeared as his timeline was essentially deleted from existence.

Around the time they travelled from, now Blaze and Tails forgot all memories and were doing their own thing, until Silver gave Blaze a note showing some info about what it was like, and while confused, she got an idea and decided to walk to Tails's workshop.

THE END... at least for now. Not sure if I am making more of this, but I am certainly doing more, as well as likely an original fictional story with no existing characters or locations.
