Stolen (A Grumbo/Vampire Mumbo fanfic)

Chapter 36- Grian

Xisuma had sent Grian a message a day ago saying that he'd back on today. Grian was so nervous. He knew everybody was prepared to help him, but he didn't know if he was prepared enough to cast the spell.

"Grian, it's all going to work out." says Dream's reassuring voice as he places his hand on Grian's shoulder. "Do you understand? Nobody will think any less of you if this doesn't work."

"I... I know. But he's my" Grian briefly pauses "best friend. I'll feel disappointed in myself if it doesn't work."

"Are you sure he's just your best friend? Nothing more?"

"How'd you know?"

"I can hear it in your voice. There was a slight pause before you said that he was your best friend."

"I-I love him, Dream. I can't stand to spend the rest of my life without him. He's the only person I've been able to talk to about High School, Japan as a whole, parts of EVO that I don't even discuss with the other members..."

"What about Scar?"

"I love Scar too, and he's the reason I didn't just kill myself back in the Watcher Kingdom to join Mumbo. Our trio won't be a trio..."

"Without Mumbo. I get it. It wouldn't be the same without George or Sapnap..." Dream widens his eyes in a panicked look. "What if something happened to George while I was gone?"

"I doubt it. George has Sapnap. If you want to go back for a moment to make sure he's okay, then come back, that's fine... just make sure you don't take too long."

"Wait... can I?"

"Of course. It's your server. Go check on it. I'll call you back if I need you before you're done. If you want to take Techno too, you're welcome to."

"Done. TECHNO!" Dream yells across the grass.

"WHAT?" Techno yells from across the grass.

"I'M GOING BACK TO MY SERVER. WANT TO JOIN?"

There was a slight pause as Techno decided what he wanted to do.

"WHY NOT? WHEN?"

"NOW! HURRY OVER!"

Techno ran over and Dream thanked Grian.

"Just let me know when you need me."

"Sounds good, Dream. I'll let you know."

Dream nods, Techno joins Dream, and they teleport to Dream's server as Bdubs comes up to Grian to talk to him.

"You okay? You seem stressed."

"I'm just scared I'm not going to be able to do it..."

"You love Mumbo more than just a friend. You will be able to do it. You're setting yourself up for failure. Trust me."

Etho joins in with Bdubs.

"Grian, you will be able to do it. All of us are helping. You need to take a nap. You haven't slept well for over a month, and now you just finished training us to help you. You are exhausted, and you aren't thinking straight. Please. Sleep." Etho says.

"I echo Etho. Sleep Grian. You're overthinking things because you're tired. You tend to do this. I can see the literal bags under your eyes. Please." says Bdubs.

"Fine. You're right. Wake me when Beef, X or Xavier hop on. The others will soon follow."

"Got it. Go to bed." says Bdubs.

"What did I do to deserve you two?" Grian says, laughing as he laid down.

Etho and Bdubs chuckle as Grian falls asleep less than a minute after laying down.

"Let's just let him sleep. He needs it." says Etho as Grian slips into unconsciousness.

"I agree. We'll let the others know to continue making sure this spell is good, but quietly as to not wake the parrot." says Bdubs.

They walk away, leaving Grian with his dreams.
