Chapter 54: Get garra!

Sakura's pov:
"Release!" I shouted but neither naruto or shikamaru woke up.
"It's not working?" I said confused. Kakashi then did some hand signs and placed his hand on the ground.
A dog then appeared before my eyes.
"Hi pakkun" kakashi said as he then turned to look at me.
"Sakura try waking naruto up again but focus on his chakra" I nodded and closed my eyes
"Release" naruto then blinked before sitting up.
"Sakura? What's going on?" Before I could answer him
I saw an aproaching kuni.
"Get down!" I yelled as I grabbed naruto
"But sakura whats-"
"Never mind I'll fill you in later so stay low!" I finished.
I then crawled to shikamaru and saw him twitch.
"Shikamaru...you...where awake..All along"
Pakkun then crawled up to him and bit his leg. It wasn't long after that when shikamaru started screaming and kicking his leg.
"You faker! Why where you pretending to be asleep this entire time!?" I shouted
"I didn't want to get involved, I could care less about sasuke" he said as pakkun bit his hand
"What is happening?" Naruto asked as an enemy ninja appeared
"Behind you!" I yelled as Gai sensei punched him into the wall.
Kakashi sensei then leaped in front of us and began to explain.
"I'll explain the mission, find sasuke and garra and stop them" he said
"When I give the order, go through that opening" I nodded
"Wait did something happen to sasuke?" Naruto asked
"I'll explain everything later, let's go" I said as I grabbed his waist and jumped out of the opening made by gai....it was then that I heared pakkun raging to a confused shikamaru about his paws being soft followed by a screaming shikamaru...I sighed
"Boys"

Sora's pov :
I ran as fast as I could to get back to naruto and sakura. I hope that they are ok....each time I jumped from roof to roof, those troublesome snakes would always be there....This is ridiculously frustrating!
" come on you slithering slimes, get outta the way!" I yelled as I jumped to the left but they just hissed and followed me. Seriously! I have already had to deal with one snake through the chunin exams and now I have to deal with another one! Great.
It was then that something clicked inside my head.
Well if it is following me then mabye I can lure it into a trap!?
I then ran foward and it hissed as I turned to face it.
"Duplicated transfer: extreme measured burst!" I shouted as I held out my hand and four big animals made of my chakra appeared before me.
A swan, a tiger, an eagle and a wolf.
"Attack!" I yelled as I hopped ontop of my eagle and charged at the snake. Surprisingly, it dodged all of my attacks!
Hmm...This snake is alot smarter than the one I defeated in the forest!...looks like I will need to put more effort into this.
I bit my thumb till it drew blood.
Oh I hope this works.

Naruto's pov :
We leapt from tree to tree trying to catch up with sasuke.
"I get it...that's what's going on...Hm I guess sasuke just couldn't wait for someone else to get garra huh?" I spoke mockingly
"Oh great why do I have to come along? This is such a drag" shikamaru complained to us
"It can't be helped, it was an order from kakashi sensei" sakura said as pakkun sniffed the area and did a sharp turn.
"How long until we catch up?" I asked
"At this speed a long time" Pakkun replied as I groaned
"Hold on" Pakkun then sniffed th air as we where moving
"Seven...eight..that's nine ninja following us!" He said as we gasped
"Come on give me a break" said shikamaru
"Looks like they have discovered our location, we need to lose them" Pakkun said.

We had been jumping ahead when pakkun suddenly stopped.
"Why are we stopping? What's the deal?" I said confused
"Shh! Zip it and follow me. We're going backwards over our footprints. That way, those ninja will lose sight of us" Pakkun said whilst backing up. I backed up slower than the others
"Well if somthing like this keeps them off of our trail than they must be pretty lame ninja" I scoffed mockingly
"Naruto hurry up!"
"Yeah we don't have all day you know!" Sakura and shikamaru yelled. I scowled and pouted
"Yeah I know that!" I snapped as I leaped backwards and followed the others.

Pakkun sniffed the air after we had just set off again.
"Keep your guard up and prepare for an attack! They definitely weren't fooled." Pakkun spoke.
"Oh great, they are probably at least chunin! We'll be wiped out if they catch us!" Shikamaru complained as my eyes widened.
"Ok we probably don't have much of a choice, we are gonna have to ambush them!" I yelled frustrated
"An ambush?, that might work" sakura said thinking aloud.
"It's no use, they are all orochimaru ' s henchmen so my almost certain conclusion is that they're all jonin level if not higher" Pakkun sighed at the statement.
Shikamaru scowled as we leaped from branch to branch.
"Grrr I really thought that would have worked but I guess i was wrong" shikamaru growled
"Wait but the level of the ninja has no effect on an ambush" sakura stated confused
"Yeah I don't understand" I looked at shikamaru waiting for his reply
"You guys don't get it so let me explain. Yes, admittedly an ambush is a key fact in battle and can be very beneficial,but for it to work there are two conditions that must be met."
Then tell us and we will meet them" I shouted
"Number one, the one on the run must be completely quiet and must discover the enemy's whereabouts first. Number two, they must catch the pursuers off guard in order to have the upper hand; find a place to attack very quickly then conceal yourselves just as quickly. It's very basic" he said with an arrogant tone.
"That is the only way that an ambush can truly take effect on the outcome of a battle". He then sighed and shut his eyes quickly before opening them again.
" there is only one plan that makes sense, a deversion that looks like an ambush. So one of us must stay behind"

Sora's pov:
I awaited for the snake to aproach me properly and I sighed
'Why does my life have to be so troublesome?' I thought to myself as the slithering serpent came closer. I did the appropriate hand signs before placing my hand on the ground
"Summoning jutsu!" I yelled awaiting my friend's assistance.
Out of the smoke, brilliant blue flames danced around the bird that had appeared before my eyes.
'Blue flames.....hakubai did not have that colour...'
"Ehhhhhh!? Y..you're not Hakubai!" I stuttered
"Huh! Of course!, I'm not anything like that bubblheaded idiot!" The bird before me growled raged.
"Wait a minute.....A. ..brat...SUMMONED ME!? THE GREAT USUGINABI(an:random name I just came up with ^_^) WAS SUMMONED BY A TINY, SNOT NOSED WIMP! HMPH!" my first impression of this guy is....He is a spoiled, selfish, mean firebird that has gotten himself a bad attitude.
"Who are you calling a snot nosed wimp eh!?" I yelled at him furious.
"You're our nothing like Hakubai, he's nice and kind but your not" I mumbled but he regrettably heared me.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" He roared. Uh-oh.
"You want nice? I'll show you nice...brat" he mumbled but on account of..New events?...I guess...I can hear better or have sharper hearing I should say.
"Wait, im not trying to be nosey...but what is your ranking in the fire leage?" I questioned hoping that he doesn't go on a rampage again.
He them smirked, and motioned for me to get on his back.
"I'm the great Usuginabi, third in the fire lead." He answered
I smiled amazed
"Wow, then you gotta be real strong huh?. And that means you're one of the road fire birds of the Hono chiku! (Flame district) right?" I asked
"That correct kiddo. Say I like your attitude kid, for that I decided to help you" he said as I sweatdropped
'I summoned you to help anyway'
He the flew into the air ready for battle
"Okay so that snake is the opponent?"
I nodded
"Very well then, oh..what do I call you?" He asked me. Oh yeah he doesn't know my name yet.
"Sorasuka Hunne....but....call me Sora" I smiled
"Humph, okay snake...get outta my presence!" Usuginabi yelled his brilliant blue flames glowing in the midst of battle.
