Chapter 58: Showdown finale

AN: Sorry for not updating for quite a while but this year is very important so i may be busy. Chapters may be late but this story is still going.

Sora's pov :
A roar echoed throughout the clearing where the battle was happening, shaking Hakubai who was struggling to stay in the air.
"Are you ok?" I asked concerned as he regained his composure.
"I am quite all right. It is not I who is important, pay attention to the fight." I nodded and looked in Naruto's direction.
"I will protect all of my comrades!" He shouted with an enthusiastic tone.
"Got that right!" I yelled joining in.
"Hakubai!"
"Right!" He flew gracefully towards the Shukaku as Cheif leaped into the air to escape an attack.
With an aggressive battle cry, Hakubai nose dived onto the Shukaku only to be hit backwards with equal force.
"Ghahhhh" I yelped as I was nearly sent flying.
"My lady! Are you hurt?" I shook my head as I wasn't harmed too badly but clutched my awkwardly twisted arm....Well that's broken.
'Come on, why is it always my arms? I need those!' Sighing, I yet again focused my attention on the battle before me.

Naruto's pov :
"This isn't going to work, his power  keeps increasing!" Yelled the Chief .
"Oh come on, all we gotta do is wallop him on the head. " I took a quick glance at Sakura, stuck to the tree and Sora, clutching her bleeding arm.
"Tell me something I don't already know. Anyway, here we go Naruto." I prepared myself for the charge that followed after Cheif's battle cry.
"I'll help you guys. Hakubai now!" Sora shouted also approaching Garra.
"Of course." The feathered summon dived in front of us and blocked an incoming attack from the Shukaku.
"Go Naruto, kick his face for me!" I chuckled at Sora's exclamation and replied.
"You got it!" As Cheif toad grabbed onto the Shukaku I leapt down clenching my fist, as I fell, Cheif turned back so I quickly punched Garra in the cheek.
"Wake up!"
Shukaku started grumbling and shouting but shortly after his eyes turned cloudy, signalling Garra was awake again.

Sora's pov :
Good. Now that' that's over things should be a little bit easier.
"Phew. " I breathed out as I glanced at Sakura yet again.
"Don't worry you sasuke obsessed pinkette, we'll save you." I mumbled.
It was then I noticed sasuke.
"Whats gotten him so shaken up? Is it the big animals?"
Hakubai gasped and apologised rapidly.
"I'm so sorry, I never meant to scare any comrade of yours!"
"Don't worry, I doubt it's you anyway."
"Sand coffin! " Snap! I hadn't been paying attention! Something like that in a real battle would get you killed; pay attention.
I saw a tongue wrap aroundthe spot Naruto used to be in.
"Hey Naruto, are you ok?" Judging from the lack of a reply and Garra shouting:
"I'm not that foolish" I think something went wrong.
Come on Naruto think, you're out of chakra but there is something else you can do. In the meantime, I gotta help him somehow. I began to gather chakra slowly. This won't work it'll take too long...Naruto...

Naruto's pov :
"I'll destroy you, I will not be erased!" Garra yelled frustrating me. I've used all of my chakra...what now? I stared at Sakura..
'I will save you so just hang on.' I thought.
"I will kill you!" Garra exclaimed.
I have to save everyon. Please, I just need a little, just give me a little bit of chakra.

Sora's pov :
I gasped and so did Hakubai. Demonic aura was suddenly released from Naruto causing Kuminoku to get restless.
"Stop you Damn fluff ball! You're not fighting him!" I mumbled checking my stinging neck.
"It seems the boy is getting assistance, if it is even right to call it that." Hakubai mumbled the last part but I heard it with my somewhat acute hearing. I laughed nervously attempting to treat my broken arm.
Naruto had been able to use the chakra to escape the sand, only to get caught again. Struggling, he managed to hit Garra but had to headbutt him; making blood dribble down both of their heads. I sweatdropped.
"Well that's one way to do it"
"Ouch" Hakubai muttered. Shukaku began to crumble into sand grains and slowly fell to the floor.
"Lets clean up a bit, huh Hakubai?" He nodded and screeched.
"Kaaaaa!" Flames erupted from his beak, not aggressive ones, but enough to get rid of the sand or blow it away.

Sasuke's pov :
They did it....did they win? Impossible..... to be outdone by them! This, doesn't make any sense .

Cheif toad 's pov :
I wish I could stick around and see then ending but I'm at my limit. Quickly, I dissappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Sora's pov :
"Sorry my lady, but I must excuse myself for I am at my limit as you are at yours. That was the last of our chakra. Until we meet again." He puffed away leaving me..IN MID AIR!?
"Hakubai you meanie! I hold grudges you know - ahhhhhhh! " I yelped as I began to fall. Luckily, Hakubai dissappeared while hovering over a short tree.
"Lucky me." I grumbled as I landed.

Naruto's pov :
"Ahhh ugh." I grunted as I landed with Garra facing me.
"That's it...it's all gone...I have got no chakra left, and by the way you're acting...I'd say you don't either." Garra merely glared at me while panting.
"Look, I understand your feelings, more than you know...but we should not be fighting."

Sora's pov :
A warm tear slid down my cheek suddenly; honestly it surprised me. For some reason... I had just got a huge sense of loss and pain...wonder why. It's like, I just lost someone dear to me again.

Naruto's pov :
Leaping into the air with a clenched fist, I made it collide yet agin with Garra's face. With a lack of strength, we both fell to the floor with a thud. Garra looked at me, his face was filled with so many different emotions that it was hard to tell what he was truly feeling. Weak, I pulled myself towards him using my chin.
"No, stay away!" He shouted but I ignored and kept crawling.
"I care about my friends more than myself, ever threaten them again and you will have to answer to me." I glared harshly.
"And me." I heard a voice. As she came into my line of sight, I was greeted with a smile.
"Sora! You're ok. What about Sakura?"
"I'm not sure, I didn't land close enough to them to see anything."
Garra paused.
"But why...why would you two fight for others?" He asked.

Sora's pov :
"Because they saved me from myself and brought me into the light while I was falling into darkness." Naruto spoke.
'Naruto...you feel so strongly about others...I didn't know that our meeting with everyone , including myself, meant that much to you'
"They're my friends."
"Naruto, Sora that's enough." I turned still clutching my arm to see sasuke. Immediately he took one look at my arm and Naruto's condition when a mixture of emotions shone in his eyes. Still, he didn't seem shaken anymore, he had regained his composure.
"The sand is gone and Sakura is ok." He spoke lifting a heavy weight from us both.
"Phew." I said as I toppled to the floor.
"That's a releif." Naruto exhaled as he turned his head and rested on the ground.

Sasuke's pov :
'They both seem injured but at least they don't seem too badly hurt, just exhausted.'
Sand ninja then landed before Garra and watched me.
"That's enough. " the red head spoke out of breath.
"All right Garra." One ninja said as he picked up Garra then leapt away.
I looked down at Naruto's face as he smiled in his sleep, then to Sora who was also asleep. How did THEY beat Garra when I couldn't?

Garra's pov :
Who knows...Naruto Uzumaki, mabye I too will someday...
"Kankuro, Temari I am sorry." They seemed shocked but I didn't mind.
"No problem." They replied.

Sora's pov :
So this is another loss I have had to suffer.... I can't say I knew him for long but the times I had been with him where precious to me.
That tear, was actually a sign preparing me for the death of the Hokage. Everyone was to attend his funeral. The locked door that sealed away the outside was opened by my hand to reveal gloomy, dull, rainy weather.
"Even the sky cries tears mourning the loss of a dear friend. Haha, I sound poetic all of a sudden." I sighed attempting to ignore the sad mood. With no success I carried on to meet my team mates, wearing black attire.

No words where spoken to me, or if they where I paid little or no attention. Placing a while flower above his grave I backed away to stand with the others. My arm now in a cast, I closed my eyes, pretending to be in his embrace as each of us said our goodbyes.
His gramps like attitude towards me was so believable that I felt as though we really were blood related. Around his and many other graves we stand, unhappy with the outcome. Although there were little casualties, there still was a heavy price to pay, as we mourned the death of the Third Hokage.
