The two made it to the beach, the waves crashed up into the shore. The aroma of sea salt filled the air and traveled through their noses calming Tubbo in an instant. Moonlight softly kissed the rippling water and the sand beneath them was smooth and sunk with every step. No one was in sight, not even a building. The only thing that was seen was the distant glow of the obsidian prison (Tubbo made sure to keep it out of view).
Ranboo wasn't too enthralled by the scenery. He was more concerned about Micheal being home alone to feel the relaxed state Tubbo was feeling. They never left him for this long. What if Micheal had a bad dream and woke up to his parents gone? What if he needed water and couldn't get it himself? What if an intruder breaks in? WHAT IF HE STARTS CHOKING?!
"Ranboo."
The boy was pulled from his thoughts as he looked up at Tubbo, the wind was playing with his hair and the moonlight shone behind him. The sight makes Ranboo's stress loosen and his grip tighten on the brunette's hand. "Mmh?"
"This is beautiful." Tubbo smiled, staring out at the sea. "Dontcha' think?"
"Y-yeah, yeah, no," Ranboo sucked in a breath. "It's lovely."
"I know! It's like a romantic novel or some shit. Just us, the ocean, the stars."
Ranboo smiled. "I guess that's true." He said before nervously looking out for mobs. He really wanted to be at home in bed right about seven hours ago, cuddled up with Tubbo as they watched a movie of some sort after their long day of parenting. But no, he was forced to be with a drunk Tubbo in a romantic setting, because of course!
Tubbo unexpectedly grabbed Ranboo's face, snapping him from his worries and forcing him to look the brunette in the eyes. "You really need to chill out. There's nothing to be worrying about. Everything is fine. You're ruining this moment for yourself."
"Yeah, I know," Ranboo said softly, looking back into the blue-sky eyes. "Sorry."
"It's fine." Tubbo smiled and kissed him. "Let's have no worries for a bit. Let's not think about any future adulting, kids, anyone on this hell of a server, or dumb insecurities. It's just you and me." Tubbo kissed him again before continuing to walk down the coast.
"Just us," Ranboo repeated under his breath and smiled but then he remembered his husband was drunk and this wasn't very romantic at all.
They find a nice spot and sit down in the sand. This was a bit uncomfortable for Ranboo but Tubbo didn't seem to mind. "Y'know," Tubbo began, looking up at the stars. "I love you. I love you so much it can't even be put into my own words. I know we get into fights sometimes and we have... disagreements. But in the end, I always know you're my person."
Ranboo stared at him in surprise at the heartfelt speech. It wasn't like Tubbo to get that deep, especially when he was drunk. It's more just random flirts that weren't even coherent sometimes like, "Hey sexy~ Y'know I have all nine seasons of The Office on DVD. Guess what, your name is written on the front. It's like destiny!". But Ranboo would rather not think of those other times and appreciate the one good one he has... for whatever reason. "That- That's really sweet Tubbo. Um... I- I don't think you need to put it into words, because I feel the same."
"Awe, that's cute, I wanted to tell you this because I wanted to ask -and please say yes- can I call you honey?"
"You really just-" Ranboo hunched over in disappointment.
Tubbo giggled as his fluffy nub of a tail wiggled back and forth. "Please?"
"Tubbo we've gone through this! There are four things that I don't allow you to do. One, don't hurt yourself or others. Two, no sex. Three, no teaching Micheal swear words. And four, no pet names other than Ran and Boo. No, you may not."
