I jolt up awake to my alarm and feeling exhausted. Looking at the time I got ready and headed to school. I spent most of the day thinking how I was gonna get the file. I definitely need someone who knows the town and would help me. Erin? No. I can't risk her and her dad. "Earth to Coffee Evans..." I hear Luke say while waving in front of me. "You don't have to think so hard ya know. We can easily get the answer sheet online." He says scrolling through his phone. "Sorry...my mind was elsewhere" I reply blankly. Dare I ask Archie Andrews wanna be here? "Come come, tell Uncle Luke what's on your mind" he gestures to the seat I'm already sitting in. I eyeroll at him. Fuck it. I'm going for it. "How does one break into a police station to retrieve a file?" I asked. At first, he was shocked but then he started grinning not like the joker kind but the "I'm definitely in" type. "Well, that depends whether the person is doing this for a good or bad" he says with his voice starts to whisper. I noticed eyes were on us too. Especially Erins' friends. "I'll tell you but in person and we can't have people following us" I say. I put my number in his phone and dial my number so I could save his contact. "Much scandal. Me like" he says with a childish chuckle. My eyes rolled in every multiverse I swear.

As I walk out of class, heading to the exit for therapy, Erin greets me as she comes out of her class. "Hey Sarah! Long-time no see" she playfully pokes me. "Very funny and hello to you too" I say back to her. as I told her that I needed to go she says, "hey my dad told me about the police thing." Of course he would. "You really sure you saw something?" she says getting all serious now. "Yes" I look her straight in the eye matching her assurance. "Do you know something about it?" I ask. She goes silent for a while as if staring at nothing and then suddenly snapping back to reality and completely ignoring my question. She goes back to her usual self and with a serious look she says "you can't trust people like Luke." Huh? She wasn't even in the class when I spoke to him. Maybe her group texted her? I didn't see her look at her phone this whole time though. "Why?" I raised a brow. "they're just cold, untrustworthy, not to mention sadistic. Anyways, have a good session bye!" she says before skipping off to her friends. I notice Luke was leaning on the locker. I'm not sure if he was eavesdropping because we were too far. Maybe lip reading. Wonder if he knew what was said. Impossible to lip read because I didn't do much of the talking and Erin's back was faced towards him. I'm just thinking too much.

As I Dr Murphy walks into his office I say, "I'm guessing you already know?" He nods. "Does my medicine make me schizophrenic?" I ask starting to get angry. "No." he said bluntly. It was then I noticed that he was a little different today. More stern or worried. "Do you believe what I said at the station was true?" I asked staring at him. He doesn't respond. No body gesture or anything. He then snaps back into reality being all normal again. Just like Erin. Is it maybe a genetic thing? And people thought I was weird. "When do I stop my medicine? I'm no doctor but I know taking medicine all the time at a young age is not good either." He just tells me that I shouldn't be stressing myself out too much and that whole monologue. He hands me the prescription slip of my medicine only I notice that the dosage is higher now. I quickly look up the names of the medicine and its uses. I didn't need to take any of these this whole time. They're neuro-suppressants. If anything, they're holding me back. So, there's definitely something. After leaving the hospital, I texted Luke, "We need to do the thing ASAP" Luke: Yes ma'am *inserts saluting emoji* Me: When? Where?

I follow the instructions and meet up with him. "Why meet right in front of the station" I ask. It's like we're right out in the open. "Huh actually, I don't know. I just thought it would be cool." He says scratching his head. I smack his arm and as if on cue the lights in the station goes out. "aren't police stations supposed to be 24 hours?" I ask. "Yes, but the cops aren't." he says pointing at the sheriff as he gets in the car and drives away. "We have exactly 2 hours and 33 minutes." He says as we start walking up to the station. "Why and how do you know this?" I whisper. "He goes to drink beer in a bar outside of the town and then goes to sober up in the diner on the way into town back with some coffee and occasionally a donut." He says as he picks the lock of the backdoor. We get in under 2 minutes. The CCTV footage is paused like a watchdogs scene. I get to the drawer where my file was placed. Locked. I look over at Luke and he's happily shredding police files. "What are you doing now?" I ask. "Getting rid of "evidence" of me drawing graffiti at the back of the McDonald's parking lot." He says as he shreds even more papers. "Did you draw on every McDonald's parking lot in the country?" I say. his body movement suddenly becomes stiff for a millisecond before he goes back to replying with "might as well help some friends out too while I'm here eh?" "Could you help me pick this lock?" I ask. He nods and opens it under a minute. "Very experienced aren't ya?" I speak. "When one does this many MANY times in their lifetime, you become an expert eventually" and the lock clicks just as he says that. I pull out my file and it was rather thick? All my doctors appointments and recovery stages are logged. The only thing not in my file is the report from that day. I go back to the cabinet and look through files that were there. I pull out a random one.

Jude Thomas, 27. Reported seeing a big wolf eating a bear. Many other files also have a similar description of the monster I saw. So why is it in this locked cabinet? "Why are they keeping this in the down low? Do you know anything about this" I ask Luke who just stepped in. He glanced over the opened file on the desk which was mine and had the photos of my parent's bodies. "Shit. I mean sorry. My condolences." he said looking away. He looked at what I was showing him and was also confused. "None of these people are in Lunaris Hills anymore." He says getting confused. "According to the sheriff, they got too spooked and just left apparently but...that wasn't the case" he says as he turns a few pages behind showing the bodies. All of the reports of these people. They died. No. Murdered. By the monster or for knowing about the monster? I escaped. Barely. But where's my report? "Sorry to burst your bubble coffee Drew" (Nancy Drew reference) he says while showing the timer on his phone. 10 minutes left. Looks like we have to come back again. I put everything back and leave the. "Wait outside" Luke says. Who am I to argue. "Alright done" he says. "Done what?" I say as we walk away. "Oh, you know, wiping down any fingerprints of ours, throwing out the excessive amount of paper shred, erasing the footage in case of anything, the usual mission impossible stuff." He says. "Well thank you for helping me with this see you in school." I say as I take my departure. As I reach home and put my phone to charge, I get a message. Luke: We're going back there again, aren't we? Me: Definitely. Luke: *ninja and salute emoji*
