Leon wasn't kidding about the intense training. Throughout the summer I had to wake up as early as 4 am and train with Leon and Jason privately. Apparently, this is something normal for new wolves, so it was easy to stay under the radar. I struggled the first few times to shift but Chenoa helped me connect with my inner wolf by introducing some meditative techniques to help transform and even some god awful herb tea which also helped with the shifting and eventually I got the hang of shifting back and forth. She didn't however, allow me to connect with the other part of me as she says I was too fragile to handle it. Whenever I finished training, I would see other pack members arriving to train and they started to welcome me more now. I slowly noticed the change in everything. How everyone has a unique scent, better hearing, much more larger appetite, and just all my senses heightened in general. I was loving it. Connecting with nature was just so peaceful and being part of it feels like I was meant to be here.
I'd train from before sunrise and just collapse out of exhaustion till noon. The first few times turning were painful but the more I did it, the less it hurt. I'd pass out when training too long and end up waking up still in wolf form. I did hear Leon and Jason talking about how I am able to stay in wolf form even when passing out. They sounded impressed and shocked at the same time. Usually after my training, some of the other members would show up for their morning training. I'd sometimes follow the training even when my legs were shaking from exhaustion, but I absolutely loved it. I got to know more of the pack members. I joined all the trainings even though I couldn't keep up with the others. I did for my own personal achievements. Once I decided that I've tortured my body enough, I turn back to human and Leon calls me over. "I see you're doing your own training. I'm impressed a new wolf can last so long in wolf form and still remain in wolf form even when unconscious. Keep it up." I smile while trying to get oxygen.
As summer vacation passed it was time to start a new year. The only thing I didn't like about being human. School. As I headed to the office to pick up my timetable I saw Luke. I hadn't seen him the entire summer. He looked me up and down and gave a cheeky smile. "So, I see you have matured, does this means you hate me now?" He asks jokingly. "I hated you from day one thank you very much." I say back with a smile. I did miss his witty comments. "Looks like you're stuck with me again for the whole semester. Since we're in all the same classes." He nudges me. I nudge him back. "Woah, when did you become so strong, that actually kinda hurt." He says teasingly. I ignored him and we started making our way to our first class. "So have you developed any powers yet?" He asks. "I don't really know. I'm still in training." I say. "It's ok lil pup let me know if you ever need a sparring partner." He says.
We enter the classroom and proceed to take our seats when the teacher called for everyone's attention. A new student. "Everyone, this is Adam. He is new to the town and to the school, so I expect you to be nice to him." She says and turns to Adam "oh and try to avoid Luke as he can be a bad influence on you." "Don't hate me cuz you ain't me teach." Luke says with a sarcastic sad tone. I couldn't keep my eyes off Adam. He was tall, athletic by the looks of it, and really handsome. His scent too was addicting. It was like being in a field of lavender. Somehow calming. Our eyes met and I immediately looked away and stared at my empty desk. Smooth. During the summer Leon taught me how to differentiate humans and wolves. Adam was definitely human, but his scent was just so addicting. He took a seat behind me. When he was walking up to the desk our eyes met again and this time he smiled at me. I blushed so hard. I've never had a proper crush on a boy before. I mean I crushed on fictional characters, Danny Phantom, Kakashi from Naruto etc. Even when he sat behind me, his scent was so alluring as if he was sitting next to me.
Luke being his extroverted self turns around to make conversation with Adam. By his body language he also seemed shy. "So, what horrible thing did you do to end up coming to this town anyway?" Luke bluntly asks. "My parents are workaholics. So, they're always travelling and never around. I told them that I wanted to stay with my grandma who lives here. She's alone here so I thought it would be nice to keep her company and actually have someone around." He says with a humble tone. "So, what sports do you play? You seem like the athlete kinda guy." Luke says. "I prefer soccer. Spent my entire childhood dedicated to it." Adam says. "Nice. What position do you play?" Luke poking again. "Defence but I trained for goalkeeper for a long time." Adam says with a smile. "Should be easy for you to make the team then catch as many girls or guys as you like" Luke says with a grin. Please don't be gay. All the really hot guys are gay most of the time. Thank you for asking this question, Luke. "Girls. Strictly girls." Adam says. YES. "Great, now you can have a chance at him lil pup." He says with a grin. I punched his arm. "Ok, now that really hurt." Luke says as he rubs his arm. Rest of the class goes by, and I couldn't help but feel his eyes on me. I didn't dare to turn or sneak a peak because it would make me look like a stalker.
The bell rings and everyone gathers their things and leaves the class. "Hey." Adam says to me. My heart skipped 10 beats. "Could you maybe like show me where my locker is? I still have no clue where anything is." He says rubbing the back off his head. "Sure. Let me see your locker number." I say. I kid you not, it was literally next to mine, but I didn't tell him that. God what is wrong with me. Why can't I function normally dammit. I take him to his locker where he started putting some of his stuff and I realised I was staring at him too long. Erin telepathically tells me to take a picture since it would last longer. I rolled my eyes as I saw her. I opened my locker and started getting the things out for the next few classes. "I guess we're locker buddies too huh?" He says. I smile still not being able to meet his eyes. My nose suddenly picked up something. I looked around and lo and behold, Sasha. She hadn't seen me. Yet. Just as she did I saw a smirk creep up that pale dead face. She's definitely coming this way. The weird thing was, she didn't approach me but Adam. Hell no. She coincidentally decides to wear a crop top with a mini skirt showing almost everything. Not like there is anything. "Hey cutie, I saw you in the office. I bet you need a guide. I can show you ALL the places around here." She says trying desperately to flirt. I cringed so hard. Adam looked her up and down and said, "no thanks. I have Sarah for that, and I much prefer her showing me around but thank you for the offer." She gave me a pissed look while I just smiled. This man just got a whole lot sexier.
He closed his locker and said "thanks". I turn away blushing after seeing his smile. There was an awkward silence, and he broke it and said, "umm if you're not too busy tonight, maybe we could hang out?" While scratching the back of his head nervously. I blushed and nodded. DATE! "So 7pm sounds good?" Again, I nod while blushing hard. Why am I like this. We swapped numbers and I texted him my address. "GO GET HIM GURL!" Erin mind links me. I looked behind Adam and there she was giving me a thumbs up like a kid. This girl I swear.
