as it turned out, paimon had been less then pleased to see that kiyoshi would be on the commission, having claimed that she thought that he would make it no fun.

kiyoshi had responded sarcastically by saying that he 'just couldn't wait' to have to hear her annoying high-pitched voice for weeks. you had watched poor aether awkwardly attempt to get the two to stop their banter and fail miserably, while you stood off to the side avoiding the three.

it's not that i don't want to talk to them, but i'm just saying, if kiyoshi doesn't introduce me, i will NOT be talking. you thought, pursing your lips as you looked around. you had tuned out your companions conversation, instead opting to take in your surroundings and glance around miscellaneously in the hopes of not looking like some sort of lonely and awkward nerd.

this is what phones are for people!!! if i had my phone i'd be scrolling online or texting skye or something, and not feeling like a weirdo just loitering around. actually, a left out weirdo just loitering around. it would be nice if someone would include me in the conversation, but alas.

you glanced back over at kiyoshi, who seemed to be less than impressed with whatever paimon had to say. you caught something about mora and not having expecting him to be there, but didn't listen in on anything else.

you looked around at the same stuff you had been looking at for a minute or so, to find that nothing had changed. how captivating. how entertaining. you really missed your phone.

well, the same guy who you had first talked to— the akademiya student— had came back from whatever he had been doing and was walking over to the other two akademiya researchers who had been chatting with the two girls.

dear god, i really must look like a idiot just standing here. i'm the only one alone! you thought bitterly, shifting your feet in the sand awkwardly. you were also very hot, the desert was not never pleasant to be in, especially since you weren't that used to warm weather right now, it having been winter when you had passed in your previous life.

"alright everyone! since we're all here, we might as well get on with the details of the commission!" you jumped slightly as you heard one of the professors clap their hands to gather attention, all the head at the oasis turning to look at him.

you noticed that kiyoshi had stepped a bit away from aether and paimon, and discreetly scooted over to stand by his side again, luckily only earning a quick glance from the male as you awkwardly smiled at him.

"so, for this commission you will be underground in a long series of connected tunnels for around three weeks. we will be asking you to try and map out the area and note any strange occurrences, and if it's possible, attempt to find the source of the strange energy coming from the area— since that's a more challenging task, we will be fine if you can't. we needed some people with visions just for the convenience of inventory and elemental powers, but if you don't have one and you're tagging along with your partner, that's fine too."
