(2 weeks later at the stadium in Sunagakure.)
"Ladies and gentlemen! Today we will be celebrating the biggest tournament that Sunagakure has to offer, it happens every two years! The Great, Survival Of The Fittest! Gear up and embrace yourselves as this is going to consist of the best youngsters Sunagakure has to offer, the classrooooooom of the eliteeee!"
As the commentator said those words by amplifying his voice with chakra, the elite students walked in while waving at the crowd of over 40 thousand people which applauded them. The 64 students stood in the arena with their backs straight and upright, their heads held up high and in a saluting position. Then the commentator started to speak again.
"Alright people I've said this many times before, but I'll say it again, this is how the tournament will work, first the 64 participants will battle it out in one on one battles so there will be 32 matches, when there is 32 people left they will also have one on ones whoever wins will advance the bracket and get to the round of 16. All these matches will happen today and since there is two arenas there will be two matches on simultaneously to save time, then the matches from the round of 16 till the finals will take place in 4 days. These matches will happen one at a time not two at a time. Thank for listening and enjoy."
Kantomaru had to fight 2 people to get to the round of 16, however this time he couldn't use surprise tactics like in the qualifying rounds because they could clearly see him in the arena.
This was going to be tough.
Kantomaru's first match was against a fourth-year student from the puppeteering clan, he was tanned with black hair and brown eyes. His name was Kaito. While they both got on the stage and got ready, Kantomaru started thinking to himself; 'I see so he used puppets to fight, he's inexperienced as he doesn't have the puppet in a storage seal. I also doubt that he can control more than one puppet at a time because that would require a really high chakra control and most people who can control more than one is at least chunnin level or is just a genius for example Sasori of the red sand. With all this in mind I believe that I can easily beat him if I'm able to get past his puppet.'
After Kantomaru had left that train of thoughts the commentator started to countdown; "three, two, one, go. And as the bell rang and the count hit zero, with chakra skin at full throttle and a burst of speed, Kantomaru immediately leaped straight towards Kaito, with his fist flying at unbelievable speeds Kaito was barely able to block it by putting his puppet on the way. However, this instantaneous manoeuvre cost his puppet a massive chunk of its torso. Kantomaru then jumped back to dodge the puppets incoming blades, as he stepped back, he took out 8 shuriken and threw them each at full speed with a curve on them heading straight towards the puppet.
The puppet was able to dodge 5 of them, with the other 3 hitting different parts of his body, but what Kaito didn't know was that some of the shurikens had ninja wires attached to them, due to the curve of the shurikens the earth wires wrapped around the puppet in a circle which hindered the puppet's movements. It only took 2 seconds for Kaito's puppet to break free from the wires, however those were 2 seconds two long; in the blink of an eye Kantomaru had appeared behind Kaito with his chakra enhanced fist flying straight towards his back.
