A couple of days later...
"Temari Kazekage, Fumiko Glacial, and lastly, Kantomaru. That concludes the entrance ceremony. If your name hasn't been called out, then leave, as you haven't made the cut. Everyone else, step forward if you have already unlocked your chakra," said the instructor. Kantomaru was astonished by how many children had already unlocked their chakra—about 60 people, mostly from clans but also some civilians. He was amazed by how many participants had unlocked it because, out of the one thousand one hundred applicants who took the exam, about 415 made it in, and he honestly didn't expect so many of them to have already unlocked their chakra. Then the instructor spoke again and said, "All the people who didn't step forward, come to me."
All the instructors then helped the children who were yet to unlock their chakra, which greatly surprised Kantomaru. But then he thought about it logically—it was the only rational thing to do, as the village was weakened and in urgent need of new soldiers, trained and ready, in case of any attacks from the enemy nations. A few minutes later, Kantomaru was sitting in his assigned class, waiting for the teacher to start talking.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Zoro. I'm an elite Chunin, and I'm going to be your classroom teacher from now until the end of your stay at the academy—assuming that you're able to keep your position in the class of the elites. In this academy, due to the war and lack of manpower, only five teams will have a Jonin-level sensei, with one of the teams having an elite Jonin as their sensei. Yes, as I'm sure you've already guessed, this is the top class in the academy, and it's a new system that Lord Kazekage implemented to only give the best resources and manpower to the most talented shinobi.
All fifteen of you students will fight every year to keep your spot at the top. If, by any chance, we deem that you're performing lower than any of the four hundred other students, then you will be swapped for that student, thereby losing the opportunity to have a sensei, which means that you will be part of the Genin Corp. However, you also have the chance of moving back up if you perform well enough the following year. Note that this year we won't be having a end of year exam and no one will be moved down, so all of you will make it to the next year's elite class.
From next year, you will all equally have access to the library at the academy, which contains many D-rank jutsu, as will every other class. However, what sets you apart is that we will allow you access to a section of the library which contains five C-rank jutsu, one from each element. You will all be given a pass to obtain the jutsu, but you can only get one jutsu a year. This means that after next year if, by any chance, you fail the end of year exam and are moved to another class due to your lack of talent, you can only ever get four jutsu. If you remain down for the rest of the years, then you will only get one jutsu, which would be next years. Lastly, the exams will remain a surprise each year and will be highly classified, so no one cheats or gets an upper hand on anyone else. So, you'd better be training every goddamn second of your pathetic lives. Now, it's your turn to present yourselves. We will start from the back row.
Oh yes wait I nearly forgot, for those of you who may be thinking that what I said about the C rank jutsu doesn't make sense, well it does because the elite class graduates one year earlier than all the other classes, this means that you won't graduate when your 12 but when your 11. Which means that if you are moved down to another class for even a year, you lose every opportunity you ever had to learn 5 C rank jutsu" And so, the tall, muscular teacher finished his presentation.
While everyone was presenting themselves, Kantomaru paid no attention, as he deemed them unworthy of it. He did this until five people caught his attention. "Hello, my name is Temari Kazekage. I like wind jutsu, and I also like training. I dislike the people who treat my brother badly. It's nice to meet all of you."
"What a kind heart," Kantomaru muttered. "Hello, my name is Fumiko Glacial. I like weightlifting, and I dislike boys who think they're stronger than me just because I'm a girl."
'Oh, great, a musclehead. This is gonna be fun,' Kantomaru sarcastically thought to himself. "Hello, my name is Zenitsu Enshi. I like playing with fire, and I hate the cold. It's nice to meet all of you," Zenitsu exclaimed with a big grin on his face. "Hello, my name is Yami Kanetsu. I'm from the Kanetsu clan. We specialize in swordsmanship, and even though my clan isn't as popular as all of yours, I'll prove that my clan is the strongest one," he said nonchalantly. Then lastly came a boy called Genki. He smiled and said, "My name is Genki, and I'll show all of you that being in a clan doesn't mean a thing." Kantomaru smiled and thought 'he's gonna be an interesting one'.
During Kantomaru's first day at the academy, they were mostly taught theory—things like strategic thinking, military planning, math, science, and Morse code. Zoro informed him that they would be learning these subjects throughout the entire year to develop strong strategic minds and gain every possible advantage on the battlefield. Kantomaru paid close attention during all the lessons, knowing that quick thinking and smart tactics could give him a massive advantage over his enemies. Take Shikamaru, for example; he wasn't the strongest guy, but he was able to beat strong foes like Kakuzu and Temari.
When Kantomaru got to the orphanage, he saw a Chunin talking to the director. When the Chunin noticed Kantomaru, he turned around and explained that students from the elite class who lived in orphanages would be given an apartment of their own, on Lord Kazekage's orders. Kantomaru thought to himself, 'Good, that's really good. Now I can train without having to worry about someone walking in or disturbing me. And judging by how much our elite class is valued, I will probably get a monthly allowance, which will help me buy weapons, food, and clothes. This is a marvelous turn of events.'
Kantomaru then went to his room and packed all of his belongings, which, to be honest, weren't much. However, as he was leaving, he was looked at with hatred by the children who had failed the entrance exam and by those who had passed but didn't make it into the elite class. This didn't really bother him, but it made him think that civilians had it hard and really unfair, as the people from clans were trained from a young age and given everything they asked for, while civilians, especially orphans, had to fend for themselves and train without knowing the right way to do it. This was evident, as apart from Kantomaru himself, only one other classmate, Genki, was a civilian. After this dreadful train of thought, he shook his head and said, "Yeah, I don't care; it's really none of my concern," and he kept moving.
After he came out with his things, he said goodbye to Hana and the director, then headed straight to his new apartment, accompanied by the Chunin who told him to keep up the good work and make them proud. *I think by 'them,' he means the civilians, as he himself is one, * Kantomaru thought to himself.
When they arrived, the Chunin gave him a key and some money. "This is your monthly allowance, and just remember that this apartment isn't permanent. If, by any chance, you are moved down a class, then Sunagakure will stop paying your rent. We will also stop giving you a monthly allowance, and you will be sent back to the orphanage. However, get comfortable, as you can't be moved down this year, so you have two academic years here guaranteed, since the exams start at the end of next year." After the Chunin said that, he left.
(N/A yep indeed the chapters are getting longer, if I'm feeling creative then they may get to 2000 words a chapter. Have a nice day)
