As I was getting ready, Ale and Ansu burst into my room, grinning from ear to ear.

"You're going on a date!" they both exclaimed, practically bouncing with excitement.

"No, I'm not!" I shot back, trying to sound convincing, but inside I felt a mix of nerves and anticipation.

"Yes, you are!" Ale insisted, nudging me playfully.

After a moment of hesitation, I finally confessed, though I decided to keep the best part a secret. They would never know that the mystery guy was Pedri, who had told everyone he would be spending the day with his family.

Just then, Gavi walked in, raising an eyebrow. "Where are you off to?" he asked, sensing the commotion.

"She's going on a date!" Ale announced triumphantly. "And we got her all ready!"

Gavi looked intrigued. "Who is the mystery guy?"

I shrugged nonchalantly, trying to play it cool. "No one, just someone I met at one of my games."

As I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my outfit, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. "You look amazing," Pedri said when I finally stepped outside to meet him.

"Thanks! You don't look so bad yourself," I replied, trying to hide my butterflies.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiosity bubbling up.

"Just wait and see," he said with a playful smile, starting the car and driving off. I was intrigued but also a little anxious. I hoped the evening would go smoothly.

We soon arrived at a cozy restaurant. "Table for under Gonzalez," Pedri told the hostess with a confident grin. As she led us to our table, I felt a rush of anticipation.

After settling in, we ordered our food, and the conversation flowed easily. We talked about everything—his life with Gavi, their childhood memories, and how they had become like brothers despite not being related. It was refreshing to connect with him on a deeper level, and I felt comfortable.

Just as I thought this was the best date ever, I caught sight of someone familiar across the room. My heart sank—it was Justin, my first love.

"Hey, Camila!" he called out, making his way over.

"Oh, hey, Justin," I replied, trying to keep my composure.

"Who is this?" he asked, pointing at Pedri with a curious look.

"This is my friend and roommate," I said, emphasizing the word "friend" to keep things light.

After a brief chat, I felt the weight of Justin's presence. The memories flooded back, and suddenly I was second-guessing everything. How could I be dating someone else when he was still in my mind?

Once the awkward encounter was over, Pedri and I finished our meal, but my mind was racing. He drove me halfway home, the silence between us feeling heavier than before.

"I really liked our date," I said, gathering my thoughts. "But I think we should continue as friends."

Pedri's expression shifted, but he nodded. "I get that. I... umm, I'm going to spend the night at my brother's. Bye," he said, forcing a smile. "Have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow."

As he drove away, I felt a mix of relief and regret. I didn't want to complicate things further, but now I was left wondering if I had made the right choice.

Ale🍺::
Hey Camila, you dashed off this morning! I didn't get a chance to ask how your date went. Did it go well?

Gavi🫢👶:
She totally friend-zoned him!

Ferran🤦‍♀️:
How do you even know that for sure?

Gavi🫢👶:
I ran into her when she got home. She had this look of disappointment on her face, so I asked her what happened.

Camila🤪🖕:
Can we please not talk about it? It's really not a big deal.

Fermin🥸:
Why not? It's not like he's in this chat or anything.

Camila🤪🖕:
Yeah, but I still feel awful. I really thought it could work out this time.

Joao🇵🇹:
Camila, maybe you're just not ready for a serious relationship yet.

Camila🤪🖕:
But it's been four long years! You'd think I'd be ready by now.

Pablo🧻:
I just don't get it. What is wrong with people? They really can't handle the heat that comes with dating you, Mommy.

Jude🍆:
Did you really just call her "Mommy"? What's up with that?

Pablo🧻:
Yeah, but I didn't mean it in that way at all!

Ansu🤢:
Pablo, you can't just call her "Mommy" after you said she was nasty. It doesn't work like that!

Camila🤪🖕:
Wait, you called me nasty? When did that happen?

Pablo🧻:
No, I meant that when we were talking about how you're just not my type! Totally different context!

Gavi🫢👶:
Alright, enough of this drama! We should probably head to practice now. I heard Pedri is already there, and we don't want to keep him waiting.

Ale🍺::
True, but I love how we managed to veer off-topic completely!
