As I walked through the stadium, I was still buzzing from the game. My heart raced a bit as I spotted Pedri making his way over to his family. Just then, I saw a girl jump on him.

"Who is that?" I thought, my stomach tightening a little.

"Wow, you were so amazing, Pedro!" she exclaimed, and I could see him smiling, though something about the way she called him "Pedro" bothered me. I wanted to go up to him and say hi, but I hesitated for a moment.

"Hey, Pedri!" I finally called out, approaching him. I gave him a quick hug. "Are you coming home today?"

"Umm, yeah, I think so," he replied, his eyes darting back to the girl.

"Pedro, who is this?" the girl asked, sounding overly familiar.

Pedri seemed a bit flustered as he introduced us. "Umm, Ally, this is Camila, my roommate. Camila, this is Ally."

Before he could say anything, Ally interjected, "I'm his love of his life!"

The words hit me like a cold wave. I felt a mix of confusion and jealousy. I didn't know this girl, but her confidence rattled me. In that moment, all the conversations I'd had with Pedri about relationships and feelings flooded back. He had opened up about how he felt for me, but seeing him with someone else made me question everything.

I forced a smile, trying to keep my composure. "Nice to meet you, Ally."

Once we got home, I felt a mix of anxiety and curiosity. I turned to Gavi after we sent Pedri and Ally out to grab food.

"Gavi, can we talk?" I asked, hoping to get some clarity on what I was feeling.

"Yeah, sure," he replied.

"Can we go to my room?" I suggested, already feeling the weight of the conversation ahead.

"Sure," he said, following me as I closed the door behind us, shutting out the world for a moment.

"So who is this Ally girl?" I asked, trying to mask my growing unease.

Gavi leaned back against the wall, arms crossed. "Well, she and Pedri dated for two years. They thought they were everything for each other. But when Pedri moved to Barcelona, she ended it, claiming he cheated. I think they might get back together, though. I know Pedri still loves her."

My heart sank at the thought. "Oh," I managed to say, trying to process everything. "Why are you asking?"

"I just wanted to know about her; I've never heard anything about her before. This is the first time I'm hearing her name."

As I spoke, my mind raced. I had friend-zoned Pedri because I thought it was the safest option. I didn't want to risk ruining our friendship, especially since I had no idea how he truly felt about me. But now, seeing him with Ally, I couldn't shake the feeling that I might have made the worst decision of my life.
