Episode 13: First Day as a Couple

The morning sunlight streamed through the windows as Mikano and Tatsuya walked side by side, their fingers intertwined. Today marked a new beginning, one filled with excitement and a hint of nervousness. As they approached the entrance of their high school, Mikano felt a flutter in her stomach. This was their first day at school as an official couple.

Behind them, Kaito and Mikasa strolled, their presence offering a sense of comfort. "Ready for your big debut?" Kaito teased, nudging Tatsuya with his elbow.

"Debut?" Tatsuya echoed, chuckling. "Is that what we're calling it?"

"Absolutely! The student body is about to witness the rise of the most dynamic duo," Mikasa added with a grin. "You two are going to be the talk of the school."

Mikano blushed, glancing sideways at Tatsuya, who met her gaze with an encouraging smile. "I guess we'll just have to handle it together," she said, trying to sound confident.

As they entered the bustling school hallways, a mix of familiar faces greeted them. Some classmates whispered and pointed, a few smiled knowingly, while others appeared surprised. Mikano's heart raced, but she held Tatsuya's hand a little tighter, drawing strength from his presence.

"Look! It's Mikano and Tatsuya!" a voice called out from behind them. It was their friend Aiko, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You two are finally together! I knew it!"

Mikano smiled brightly, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. "Thanks, Aiko! It's still kind of surreal."

Another classmate chimed in, "You guys are so cute! I can't believe it took you both this long to figure it out!"

Tatsuya laughed, a hint of shyness in his demeanour. "Yeah, well, better late than never, right?"

As they continued down the hall, the supportive comments continued, and Mikano felt herself relax. It was nice to know their friends were happy for them. Still, she couldn't help but feel a bit of pressure; being a couple came with expectations.

"Let's head to our lockers first," Kaito suggested, leading the way. Mikasa walked alongside him, playfully bumping shoulders.

When they reached the lockers, Tatsuya opened his and pulled out his books. Mikano stood next to him, her heart racing as she caught glimpses of their reflections in the shiny metal. This was it. They were officially a couple, and it felt incredible.

Kaito leaned against his locker, crossing his arms. "So, what's the plan for today? Are you two going to sit together in class, or are you going to play it cool?"

"Definitely sitting together!" Mikano declared, glancing at Tatsuya. "I want to make the most of this day."

"Good call," Mikasa said with a nod. "It's your first day together as a couple. Enjoy it!"

As the bell rang, signalling the start of the day, they all filed into the classroom. Tatsuya and Mikano chose seats next to each other, the warmth of their connection evident even in the bustling environment. Their classmates whispered and exchanged smiles, creating a vibrant atmosphere around them.

Throughout the morning, Mikano couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, but it was a mix of excitement and nerves. She leaned closer to Tatsuya during lectures, exchanging small smiles and quick notes. Every fleeting touch of their hands sent sparks through her, reminding her just how special this moment was.

At lunch, they joined a larger group at their usual table. The conversation flowed easily, laughter echoing as stories were shared. Mikano felt a sense of belonging, her heart swelling with happiness.

"Okay, so now that you're a couple, we need to plan something epic for the next cosplay event!" Aiko suggested, her eyes shining with enthusiasm.

Tatsuya grinned, looking at Mikano. "I'm all in. I want to make it even more special."

Mikano felt a rush of warmth at his words. "Me too! Let's do something unforgettable."

As lunch came to an end, Kaito leaned in closer to Tatsuya, a teasing smile on his face. "Just remember, if you ever need advice on how to handle a girlfriend, you know where to find me."

Mikano playfully rolled her eyes. "Kaito, stop! We're doing just fine."

Tatsuya chuckled, feeling more at ease as the day progressed. "Yeah, I think I can handle it."

As they left the cafeteria, Mikano and Tatsuya walked closely together, Kaito and Mikasa trailing behind. It felt amazing to have her siblings' support, and it reassured her that no matter what happened, they were all in this together.

"Looks like you two are thriving," Mikasa said, nudging her brother playfully. "Just don't forget about us little people when you become the star couple of the school."

"Never!" Mikano promised, glancing back at her sister. "You both are a huge part of my life, and I want you to be included in everything."

As the day went on, Mikano felt lighter, more confident. Being with Tatsuya brought out a side of her that felt truly alive. She was excited to see where their journey would take them, and with her family by her side, she felt ready to embrace whatever came next.
