There's a great rule I live by called
"Acta non verba"
As in, I don't believe anyone's promises
Unless they abide by their own words
For words are very sharp swords
You either swing it at your foe
Or it attacks you
So if you make a promise
Be sure to do your best to fulfill it
Otherwise, you'll just make a mess
Out of your life that you'd rather omit
