Harley's pov

When we finally made it I felt like I was going to kill someone. I was starving, I had to pee (why did I have to pee so much? I'm literally dead!), I also desperately wanted to change, how did I wear these outfits everyday? "Harls, let's go". I got out the car and Damon smiled at us "read this ladies! It paints a pretty little picture of Stefan's first time in Chicago" he handed me a book and I went to open it but Elena snatched it out of my hands.

"That's Stefan's diary, we can't just invade his personal and private thoughts" Damon and I rolled our eyes at the same time "you need to be prepared for what you're about to see" "I've seen Stefan at his worst, I can handle it" Elena said holding the book to her chest. Damon snatched it away from her and opened it. "March 12th, 1922. I've blacked out days, I wake up in strangers blood in places I don't recognize with women I don't remember" Damon paused and faked a shock gasp "I'm shocked! Stefan isn't a virgin" I laughed and Elena pushed him grabbing the book.

"You're so childish" "is Stefan very vanilla? He seems like he would be so I assume he isn't" I asked Elena cheekily and she threw Stefan's diary in the backseat "let's just get this over with" Damon looked over at me and I shrugged. Damon led us into a ran down building and I could have swore I saw a rat scurry past. "Oh cool a rat" "Harley don't touch" Damon said behind me as he continued walking. He took us up the stairs and almost immediately I noticed I wasn't out of breath "hey I can breathe" I heard Damon snicker as he reached the top.

"Vampirism baby you could even walk faster if you wanted" I smiled and hurriedly met him and Elena "out of the places Stefan chose to live he chose... this?" I asked "there used to be an all-girls high school around the corner but it shut down for attendance issues. Weird" I furrowed my brows clearly not getting whatever he was insinuating "what's weird about that? I know lots of girls who never went to school" they both ignored me "if you're trying to scare me just stop" Elena said so I'm guessing she understood whatever he meant. Damon shushed her and he broke off the handle so we could enter.

"Here we are. Stefan's second personality home" it looked completely ran down but the bed was perfectly made and everything was in order which really gave off Stefan vibes. Making the best out of nothing. I sat on the bed and damn walked over to the kitchen cabin and opened it. "Tour's not over yet" Elena walked over and scoffed "wow Stefan his alcohol, what a monster" she went to turn around but Damon caught her arm "look harder".

She hesitated but then walked in the closet I groaned and stood up walking over there too. When you walk in the wall hidden by the door was covered head to toe in names. Mostly girl names. "Names? Did Stefan write down all of his victims?" Damon nodded at me so I felt smart for getting this one. Elena silently scanned the wall and Damon smugly mocked her "still handling it?".

I could tell she was fed up with him "what were you doing in the 1920's? Paving the way for women's liberation?" Damon didn't turn around but he did stop walking "I was around, Chicago's a big city. Stefan was a cocky ripper douche" he turned to face us and smirked "Harley come" almost like I was his pet I started moving towards him and Elena grabbed my arm causing me and Damon to halt "where are you going?" Damon turned around and walked back towards us.

"His old stomping ground. I need Harls as backup" "well I'm coming too" "no" Damon and I said at the same time "Harley?" Elena seemed hurt but I would feel better if she was safe here and not roaming the streets especially when Klaus was on the loose. "Stay here and whip up an actual plan. We'll be back as soon as we find him" Damon grabbed my hand as he said that and vamped us out slamming the door behind him.

"Why do I have to come?" I asked as we walked down the stairs "you know how Elena is wouldn't it be better if I stayed with her and watched her?" Damon don't respond to me but I knew he heard me. He got in his car and I stayed outside he knocked on the window but I just stood there. He rolled down his window "Harley would you get in the car" "go without me" Damon groaned and got out the car stalking over to me.

"Harley we do not have time for this! Get in the damn car so we can go" I rolled my eyes and he put his hands on my shoulders and I yelped causing people to stop and look at us "I don't wanna be alone with you and you haven't really spoken to me in months so why do you want me to go?" He dropped his hands and backed up causing the people to stop staring "I don't have time for this. Wanna watch your sister? Fine go" he got in his car and drove off. I watched him until he was out of sight before walking back to Elena.

I opened the door and she jumped "Harley?" I shrugged as I plopped down on Stefan's bed. "Whatcha reading" "Stefan's diary" "thought you said that was an invasion of his privacy?" "Shut up". I turned over and fell asleep. What felt like seconds later Elena began shaking me "someone is coming" I picked her up and vamped sped us to the secret cabinet. I covered her mouth and listened. I heard Klaus' voice and I practically froze. I hadn't seen him since he betrayed me, I know I should hate him but damn that accent.

"Believe me now?" I heard Klaus say as he opened the cabinet and Stefan walked in. He locked eyes with me and then focused on Elena. I removed my hand from her mouth and she smiled at him "look at what I found" Stefan reached next to me and grabbed a bottle of wine and handing it to Klaus. "My favorite" I heard Klaus laugh "let's find someone to pair it with" I heard him walk out and Stefan came back giving Elena a smile before closing us in.

When I could no longer hear Klaus or Stefan we walked out the cabinet and Elena jumped on me "HES OKAY HARLEY!" I hugged her back "yeah yeah calm down!" We sat back in the bed and I laid down "I told you he'd be ok" Elena smiled before curling up next to me.

I could hear Damon's footsteps before he flung open the door but I forgot to mention to Elena so she sat right up scared "get presentable, I know where Stefan is going to be tonight" he threw a tan bag at us and I caught it. Elena stood up walking over to Damon "I told you I was almost uncovered by Klaus and you're worried about what I'm wearing?" Damon shrugged as he sat down "move on. Get dressed, both of you" Damon didn't look my direction not even once.

"You know where he's going to be?" "Yeah with Klaus, get dressed" Elena nodded "okay" "I'll distract Klaus while you get to Stefan but, you have about five minutes before that hybrid freak rips my heart so tell em you can do this?" I stood up holding the duffle bag I'll do it" Damon looked over at me "no way, you're supposed to be dead" I shrugged "so what Klaus liked me. I could lie and say I was looking for him I dunno when you're in a previous toxic relationship people will believe you'd do anything to find love again. I'll just tell him I love him" Elena nodded and left the room grabbing the tan bag on her way to the bathroom.

"Why are you doing this?" Damon asked walking over to me "I can do this Damon. I can't... I don't wanna see you get hurt" something flickered in his eyes "I thought you didn't care about me" Damon slowly raised his hand to my face "promise me you won't do anything stupid?" I grabbed his wrist and held his hand to my face "all I know is stupid" I pulled away from him and walked in the bathroom with Elena to get changed.

"So you wanna tell me what's up with you and Damon?" She asked as I put on her shirt and some shorts I had packed. "Your style is weird" I said as I walked out and she followed behind me. "Ready.
