April 21, 2024

My name is Mischa Parciak and I am currently on a plane from Syracuse to Las Vegas. From Vegas, I go to San Francisco. From the airport, I go to a hotel. From the hotel, in the morning, I go to Oracle Park, where I begin my first series as a New York Met.

I don't know what the plans for me are. I feel like I'm going in completely blind. But, I got the call only two hours ago. It was bound to be somewhat chaotic.

I took everything I could think of on this flight because I don't know how long I'll be gone. I've never packed so fast, I'm worried I left something behind. That's how quickly I left my apartment.

I'm a little bit scared. A lot scared, actually. Every emotion inside of me is so confusing, I can't really distinguish between them yet. All I know is that I am now a Major League Baseball player, and I couldn't be happier yet so, insanely terrified at the same time.

I hope they like me. That's the biggest fear, I think. If they don't like me or they don't want me there, it's going to be an insanely miserable next few months.

I'm going to take a nap and wait for this plane to land and think about it later.

Until we meet again,
MP

When her plane from Vegas touched down in San Francisco, all the nerves Mischa had been bottling up during her travels crept up on her at the same time. She watched the plane hit the ground and go towards the gate, and she leaned back in her seat, letting out a staggered breath. Nervous yet excited. Frightened yet overjoyed. Predominantly exhausted.

She took her phone off of airplane mode, and, immediately, was bombarded with notifications; Instagram mentions and DMs, Twitter mentions, and texts from Brett.
