ALVARA
The flood of relief I felt after finally telling Milo everything, just getting it out in the open was indescribable. I had told Kiara and Del bits and pieces about my past but I had never told anyone everything.
When I got home I took off my makeup and Changed into pajamas, it was so hard to believe Milo had never been in a relationship before. He was so thoughtful, and planned the date around things he knew I liked. And he was now my boyfriend.
We haven't known each other very long but everything just fell into place so perfectly.
"Oh my god! Your home, I need you to tell me everything!" Kiara said, "Del! She home!" Kiara whisper shouted into the room beside mine. Koda was already fast along on my bed.
Kiara and Delaney now sat at the end of my bed patiently waiting for me to fill them in.
"Kiara, please don't tell anyone! Especially not Sawyer..." I said pointedly. "I won't! Now spill!" She said.
"Okay... first we went to this really nice restaurant called "Luce", and it was amazing the food was so good. Then we drove out to an old drive in theater. And he had pillows and blanket set out in the back of his truck and we watched Casablanca, and... it's official." I explained before opening my phone and showing them his new name in my phone
"❤️ Boyfriend ❤️". They both squealed in excitement for me asking a million questions."Good night Mrs. Lazare!" Kiara teased as she headed back to her room. "Del?" I asked, "yeah?" She said before standing to leave. "I told him everything." I told her, "Good, I'm happy for you." She said sincerely. "Thanks Delly." I said as she pulled me in for a hug.

I woke up the next morning feeling like queen of the world. I had a ridiculous amount of motivation and energy so I made a decent amount of progress on my capstone project. I took a break to spend some time with Koda, I took him to the dog park but he just kept trying to hump a golden retriever. So we left after fifteen minutes...
My mind kept wandering back to Milo, he said he was going to his Mom's school so I didn't want to bug him especially after last night and be clingy.
I decided I'd run to Publix and get some groceries, I was going to go tomorrow but I have time now.
I was going to pull a Nara Smith for dinner and make grilled cheese with a homemade tomato bisque. One of my favorites to make during fall.
Mrs. Accardi taught me how to make it the first time we met. That winter break had been the worst, realizing my family had already abandoned me. She was the closest thing I still had to family. Once I turned eighteen she retired with her husband in Huston.I walked up and down the aisles gathering ingredients for the meals I had planned for the rest of the week. I checked out and put the groceries in my trunk and my phone rang.
I saw the caller ID and picked up immediately."Hey pretty girl" Milo greeted me.
"Hi, how's your day going?" I asked
"It was good. I spent about an our visiting my mom's class, and then I had practice. What about you?"
"Well I did some work on my capstone project and took Koda to the dog park, and I am now driving home from the store." I explained as a great idea popped into my head. "And I was wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner? You can extend the invitation to the other boys, I'm sure Kiara would love to see Sawyer and her brother."
"I'd love to, I'll tell the other guys." He said
"Okay dinner is at six but feel free to come early!"
"Okay, I'll see you soon pretty girl."
"Okay, bye!"
"Bye"
I hung up pulling into the driveway and unloading the groceries. I was four now so I still had an hour till I need to start dinner. So me and the girls tidied the house and got the extra chairs, and set the table.
I then started on dinner. I got out a sauce pan and heated some vegetable oil, and began chopping the onions. I heard a knock at the door and Kiara went to go let them in. The house was soon filled with chatter, I then felt Milo hug me from behind. The other's filled the kitchen.
"How the fuck are you not crying!" Sawyer exclaimed rubbing his eyes. "I wear contacts." I said laughing at him. Milo blinked away the tears before taking a few steps back. "What happened to your ne—" Milo interrupted him then whispered something to Sawyer and his eyes widened before going to the living room, where here everyone else had made their way to.
"Want some help?" Milo asked, "Sure can you open this can?" I asked, handing him the can opener. I sautéed the onions and added garlic.
Kiara came in and grabbed some beer for everyone. "Do you want one Milo?" She asked he shook his head and she took the bottles to the other room."Will you pour in the tomatoes?" I asked moving to get the bread so I can start on the grilled cheese. "Yeah, do I need to stir it?" He asked. "Just to combine it, then we let it simmer for about ten minutes." I explained as I began to assemble the sandwiches.
I then bent down and got the skillet to "grill" the sandwiches. "Fuck" I heard Milo mutter, "are you okay?!" I asked concerned. "Uh yeah— I just bumped the pan. It's fine." He said. "Okay...How was your mom's class?" I asked heated a slice of butter on the skillet.
"Good, the kid I was tellin' you about— Carter, he practically knew more about hockey than me. I brought some team merch for the kids and it went really well." He said remembering. "I'm so glad!" I said as I put a sandwich on the hot skillet the popping and sizzling of the butter filling the silence.
I then attempted to reach the immersion blender that I kept at the top of the cabinet. I was about to climb the counter but Milo came up behind me reaching above me grabbing it for me, effectively reminding me of the first time he'd come over for food. No ever mentions the practicality of dating a tall person.
I showed him how to use the immersion blender so I could continue on the grilled cheese.
I was working on the last sandwich, the bisque now finished and in a serving dish at the table. Everyone began filing into the dining room taking seats at the table. I then set the plate of grilled cheese sandwiches down before I took a seat and we all began dishing out food, "Thank you, dinner is perfect." Milo said and I heard everyone else's muffled "thank you"s that followed.
