"Qing'er!" Ding Qiyu rushed forward, embracing Fu Ruqing tightly. "Thank goodness you're alright. As long as you're safe!"

"Qiyu..." A familiar voice suddenly called from behind, a voice Ding Qiyu knew all too well but dared not remember. It was filled with deep affection and despair, causing her spine to stiffen as she turned around. There stood Weixi, eyes brimming with tears, looking at her with a heart-wrenching expression.

"Weixi... Weixi..." Ding Qiyu whispered her name, suppressing the urge to call the name she wanted to most. The feelings she thought deeply buried surged forth upon seeing Weixi, tearing open old wounds and filling her with pain.

"I don't care about worldly conventions anymore. I don't care if you're male or female. But why did you forget about Weixi... why?" Weixi tearfully confessed her feelings. "Didn't you say you truly cared for me? Then why... did you leave me?"

Ding Qiyu grasped at her chest, unable to utter a single word.

"Ah Yu, don't you understand my feelings?" The voice of the little crybaby echoed in her ears. "I've never seen you as just family..."

"Lian'er..." Turning her head, Ding Qiyu saw Lian'er, face streaked with tears.

The tumultuous emotions left Ding Qiyu bewildered, unsure of how to face it all. But when she lowered her gaze and looked up again, the three people who had been there vanished without a trace... and her consciousness began to drift away, once more engulfed by darkness.

...

Ding Qiyu's murmurs in her sleep brought Fu Ruqing immense joy, as it suggested she was close to waking. Yet hearing the names "Weixi" and "Lian'er" whispered unconsciously filled Fu Ruqing with an indescribable pang of jealousy. Besides herself, those were the two women from Xing City Yu had mentioned... What was Yu dreaming about? In dreams, one often reveals their truest feelings, and perhaps deep down, Yu still held onto her "past."

Fu Ruqing watched Ding Qiyu silently, her hand instinctively pressing gently on her abdomen, seeking comfort and reassurance from the new life within.

At that moment, Silver Sui's voice came from the door, "Miss, the master sent a team; they're in the front hall."

Sighing softly, Fu Ruqing smoothed out the frown on Ding Qiyu's forehead with her fingers, then leaned down to place a gentle kiss on her eyelid through the veil. She walked to the door, pausing to glance back at the person on the bed before stepping out.

Upon receiving the message from his daughter's subordinate, the Fu family patriarch had dispatched two teams—one to the western region to help apprehend those who sought to harm Ruqing, and another to rendezvous with Fu Ruqing's group. However, Fu Ruqing's message hadn't mentioned her pregnancy, as she hadn't known at the time. Had the patriarch known he was soon to have a grandchild, he might have ridden out to meet his daughter personally.

Fu Ruqing allocated her father's team among her guards and shadow guards. Once arrangements were made, she planned to bring the experienced doctor her father had sent to examine Ding Qiyu. Suddenly, the whistle signaling the gathering of shadow guards sounded from Ding Qiyu's room. Alarmed, Fu Ruqing rose from her chair and hurried towards the room.

Before she could reach it, two shadow guards assigned to protect Ding Qiyu stumbled before her, kneeling in panic, "Eldest Miss, Young Master Ding has been taken!"
