"It's not what you think. Here's how it went..." Ding Qiyu explained the situation, letting the doctor tend to her wound while holding her forehead with her right hand, feigning a sigh of exasperation. "So, I got caught in the crossfire for no reason..."

"Pfft, hahaha..." Lu Weiming chuckled at Ding Qiyu's dramatic expression, while Qing'er also struggled to hold back laughter. The doctor continued his work, carefully cleaning the fabric debris from the wound, causing Ding Qiyu to grimace in pain.

Seeing Ding Qiyu's discomfort, Lu Weiming stopped laughing, "But seriously, Qiyu, your injury looks scary... I don't know why you're still working. As your supervisor, I insist you take three days off. No arguments!"

Ding Qiyu sighed, glancing at Qing'er, thinking that three days off meant missing Miss Lu's music for three days. But after not taking a break last month, spending time with family might be good.

Following Ding Qiyu's gaze, Lu Weiming finally noticed Qing'er, "Qing'er? What are you doing here?"

Oh, so you finally noticed me? Qing'er thought, replying, "Miss Lu heard about Mr. Ding's injury and asked me to fetch a doctor."

Lu Weiming stroked his chin, "Hmm? I've never seen Weixi care so much for anyone... I didn't even know you were hurt, but she did... Interesting!" He shot Ding Qiyu a sly smile, which made Ding Qiyu feel a little uneasy.

At that moment, the doctor spoke up, "This injury is from the Thousand Leaves Sect's Fire Whip. The woman you mentioned is likely from the Thousand Leaves Sect." Though currently nameless, the doctor was once a well-known healer in the martial world before settling in the General's Mansion, so he knew much about martial affairs.

The young people present, unfamiliar with the martial world, all asked in unison, "Thousand Leaves Sect?"

The doctor nodded, applying ointment to Ding Qiyu's wound, explaining, "The Thousand Leaves Sect only accepts female disciples, offering refuge to destitute women. They specialize in punishing unfaithful men, but their methods are often harsh, so it's best to avoid entanglements with them."

"Haha, no worries there. Qiyu's an innocent bystander, not one of those unfaithful guys, right, Qiyu?" Lu Weiming joked, winking at Ding Qiyu, who responded with an awkward laugh. "But those Thousand Leaves women do hit hard; one whip did this to you!"

The doctor's words reminded Ding Qiyu of the fierce yet alluring red-clad woman.

The doctor finished bandaging the wound and advised, "I've used the best medicine as per Miss Lu's request. It's best for you to return to the mansion in three days for a change. Changing too often might hinder recovery."

After explaining, the doctor left with Qing'er. Ding Qiyu asked Qing'er to tell Miss Lu he couldn't listen to her music for the next few days. Though Lu Weiming didn't hear their conversation, he was more convinced that something was brewing between Qiyu and Weixi. He supported it, knowing Qiyu's character—smart, reliable, and meticulous. Given the chance, Qiyu would surely achieve great things.

After sitting a while longer, Lu Weiming insisted Ding Qiyu go home to recover. Unable to refuse, Ding Qiyu gathered her things and left. Before heading home, she stopped by the market to pick up some supplies.

When she returned, Lian'er had just arrived. Hearing Ding Qiyu would rest for three days delighted both Aunt He and Lian'er.

"Great, Lian'er bought pig trotters. We'll make sure you recover well," Aunt He said cheerfully. They hadn't spent a full day together in a while. Ding Qiyu was startled—would she have to eat pig trotters every meal for the next few days? Would she turn into one?
