okay so if you've been reading this which it's basically just been me ranting you know that my mom is homophobic and against gay marriage so we were having a discussion about gay marriage and she kept throughout bible verses and I was like listen ma let me tell you something
•God loves everybody it says that multiple times in the bible
•the story of Ruth and Naomi (Ruth is Naomi's daughter in law. Ruth and Naomi's husbands die sadly and Ruth stays and they love each other a lot) says that Ruth CLAVE to Naomi. In the bible when talking about marriage it talks about a man leaving his father and CLEAVING to his wife. so that the same thing
•the story of David and Jonathan (Jonathan and David were bffs when they 1st met they became "one spirit" and David left his family to live with Jonathan.) What was that I said earlier oh yeah CLEAVING. Later in the story Jonathan and David have this huge falling out but eventually find their way back and make a covenant together that their families will be one forever isn't that a lot like a wedding vow. Later when Jonathan dies David talks about how his love was "greater than that of any woman" and that it was more wonderful than anything ever.
•the same passage that talks about gay marriage talks about not eating shrimp, wearing linen and wool at the same time, not eating rabbit, and eating raw meat. so if your take the bible literally you would probably be a vegetarian and have to make your own clothes which my mom is neither
